Shock bfp

Postby sicily » Wed Jun 17, 2015 5:56 am

I'm feeling terrified... I'm in between ivf cycles and took a test this morning and it says 2-3 weeks pregnant... Needless to say I've been relaxing, drinking, eating rubbish, even sat in a jacuzzi for a few minutes at weekend. I hadn't taken my metformin or vitamins in over a week as I had a terrible stomach bug last Monday (implantation) and of course no progesterone. The timings fit in with EWCM and BD after i got drunk for first time in years... I can't help but feel this is another horrible joke from my body!
In brief I aleaady have DD from ivf after clomid and miscarriage and have had two cycles since that ended in chemical pregnancies.

Sicily - I know you must be terrified, but you should try to remain calm and speak to your clinic this morning. Try not to worry about the drinking - think of all the cases you've heard of people having 'happy accidents' and not knowing they were pregnant.

I have ec for you and the next 9 months. Congrats xx

Thank you ma5 and hkitty... Needless to say I've had little else on my mind all day. Rang clinic who said to start taking cyclogest and contact EPU for a reassurance scan. I had EWCM around 30th may so the CBD reading of 2-3 weeks sounds right. Not sure when to go for a scan? Maybe in a fortnight (if we get that far)? Is it about 6-7 weeks you can see something? X

hi Sicily. Don't worry about the alcohol /Jacuzzi etc. they say these things so you don't do them to excess. Most people won't know for longer than we know that they are actually pregnant so I am so sure everything will be fine. How amazing though? So happy for you. Hope you are all okay? Happy and healthy nine months sweetie xxx

Hi ladies, thank you... Still pregnant according to 5 tests in last fortnight and going for early scan tomorrow. I reckon I'm 7 weeks on Saturday. Feeling very nervous. Started to feel a bit nauseous and off food /wanting salty food. Will update you after scan xx

Not great, they saw yolk sac and gestational sac which dates me at 4-5 weeks but I'm sure I'm 6-7. Have to go back next week. Not very optimistic x

Sicily - don't lose hope, there have been instances here where the foetus has been hiding and they lost all hope, just to find out all was well days later. Good luck for next week. x

looking at your dates as to when you took your test on the 17th (2-3 weeks pregnant) 4 weeks is entirely possible. maybe you ovulated a little bit later than you thought.

I have every hope for you xxx

No miracle I'm afraid... ERPC tomorrow afternoon, been referred to counsellor and recurrent MC clinic and tissue will be karyotyped to see if they can find a chromosomal cause. They've been v good and kind and told me remains will be cremated at a service that we can attend if we want to.
Also gp has agreed to keep me on metformin as I was on it when I got pregnant naturally. We're not going to have any more ivf for now, we need a break and have other potentially exciting life plans, so will see what time brings. Thank you for all your messages of support on various posts, I've been reading but not very good at replying xx

SIcily {HUGS} - I hope all goes well as can be tomorrow. It will take sometime to heal physically so do allow for that.... The emotional healing is never easy and takes time :-( .

I truly believe everything happens for a reason - I see you have some exciting plans for the US so think of this as an opportunity to focus your energies on that
