Monday's meeting was a great success and the new location seems to suit people well.

Our next meeting will be at 7pm on Monday 10 June. Once again it'll be at Costa Coffee in the upper mall at Cribbs, by the top entrance to John Lewis.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Maybe we'll be having a half-decent summer by then?? (I can dream...)

We were just wondering where you'd prefer to meet on 10 June - either at Costa Cribbs, or would you prefer to meet at Kate's house? (she's about 5 mins away from Cribbs, near local buses too).

Let me know.

Also, if you have any comments/suggestions about time time/day of meetings, or anything else you'd like the meetings to cover, let me know.

We're hoping to get a speaker along to the next meeting too.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello everyone,

Slight change of time/venue for the June 10 meeting.

Kate has offered to host the meeting. We're also starting a little later - 7.30 pm - as that suits some people better.

She's at
Rosedale, Fishpool Hill (off Brentry Lane), Brentry, BS10 6SW
Mobile 07941 554484

It's near Cribbs Causeway.

Contact Kate if you need directions!

Hope to see you then. Please let me know if you're planning to come.

Our next meeting is at 7pm on Monday 13 January 2014 at Costa Coffee Cribbs Causeway, near the upper entrance to John Lewis.

I know that sounds a long time away, but we've decided to hold the meetings less often, as so few people seem interested in coming. At our last meeting, aside from Kate (the host) and myself, one person turned up. Several people had said they were going to come, but then last minute crises at work stopped them. I know people have busy lives, but if so few actually turn up, then there doesn't seem much point in having the meetings more than a couple of times a year.

I do wonder whether these days, folk prefer to interact by electronic means, and less face to face. Personally I find that meeting other PCOS ladies "for real" is really useful and helpful.

If anyone has any ideas for venues, timings, format of future meetings, please let me know.

I hope to see you in January.

Don't forget our next meeting on Mon 13 Jan at Costa Coffee at Cribbs Causeway (outside the upstairs entrance to John Lewis).

We have a speaker coming to talk to us. Her name is Lucie. She's a Beauty Therapist and specialist Electrologist, based in Sea Mills. Lucie has suffered with PCOS since she was 16 years old and understands the physical and mental problems that go with it.

Lucie will tell us about the treatments available for hair removal, acne and holistic therapies (aiding fertility and other symptoms) and her personal experiences.
She's also looking to offer discounts to women with PCOS for these treatments.

Hope to see you on the 13th. Please let me know if you're planning to come, so I have an idea of numbers.

Hi Katharine,

How did the last meeting go? Did many turn up? I live in St. George, Bristol and would be really keen to meet other PCOS sufferers locally - when is the next meet scheduled for?

Many thanks,

Heidi

Our next meeting will be on Monday 9 June at 7pm at Costa Coffee at Cribbs Causeway (just by the upstairs entrance to John Lewis).

We'll just meet for a general chat, to get to know each other and swap experiences about PCOS. For those of you who haven't been before, it's amazing how much we have in common, and it's really nice to meet people who know what it's like to live with PCOS. If you're shy and don't feel like saying anything, feel free to just sit and listen.

Please let me know if you're coming, and pass details onto anyone else you know in the area. See you soon!

If anyone has difficulty getting there, please let me know and we'll try and sort out a lift.

Hi Katharine,

I'm still coming tomorrow night but will be late. I have to wait for my husband to get home so he can look after our Daughter (he doesn't get back until 630pm) so hoping the traffic won't be too heavy!

see you all then

Just so everyone is aware - this has been posted on the main part of the website:

Verity Bristol local group - next meeting Monday 15 September, 7pm, Costa, Cribbs Causeway

Thanks to everyone who came to our last meeting and made it such a success.

Our next meeting will be on Monday 15 Sept at 7pm at Costa Coffee at Cribbs Causeway (just by the upstairs entrance to John Lewis).

Kate Tierney, one of our members, is going to talk to us about nutrition. She's a particular fan of raw food. She makes smoothies that are like juices, but they have all the fibre contained within them to slow down the blood sugar hit rate. She'll talk about the benefits of raw food for PCOS and why, contrary to popular PCOS belief, fruit isn't the enemy. Kate is an excellent speaker and very knowledgeable about dietary matters.

If anyone has difficulty getting there, please let me know and we'll try and sort out a lift.
