Hav just spoken to dietian and we are to stop now, get his sleep returned to normal and then challenge again to confirm that was the cause! Would blood tests or something show an allergy now at this age? Just seems so cruel to put him though it! Wonder how long it will be to get it out if his system, used to tak a while with his milk!

Blood tests only show up a severe reaction....they can do skin prick testing too which is not as rough on the kids. Both my boys had this done and it came back negative but this only indicates an allergy rather than an intolerance. With my food diaries and elimination testing they diagnosed them both with intolerance's based on those and the reactions...

Stand your ground....or lie ;)

You need to see an allergy specialist to get a diagnosis to get it on his medical records....no arguments then. If it carries on til he starts school there are forms you have to get the doctor to fill in to confirm it and things...

Well we've had a big flare up with Harry the last 24 hours....not had one for such a long time and the only thing I can think of that may have caused it was some fresh bread he ate from Tesco yesterday....it's usually ok but wondering if they've changed their recipe??? His skin is red raw and itchy and we've had some rotten nappies this morning very leaky and honky :(

He's fine today....he's had the worst eczema flare up I've seen him have since he was tiny....was awful but today being day 4 (both of my boys reactions last 3 days) it's looking much clearer his skin. Teach me to check in future...good thing that has come out of it is we were having a coffee in a local bakery coffee shop on Monday and I got chatting to the baker and all of their bread is dairy free. Interestingly too she told me that she used to work at Tesco and the majority of their fresh breads have margarine in them....not when I've asked they don't....but hey who do I believe after H's reaction?? I know where I'll be getting my bread from in future and it won't be Tesco!

Oooh I've liked the page too Steph :-)
Btw we had gastro paed & dietician yesterday and they don't want us to dairy challenge for another year as he reacted to such small amounts of baked dairy.

Off topic fir this thread but Steph are your boys on meds? Had a nightmare with his Omeprazole suspension, first they use a new supplier who send it with added lactose!!! Meaning 2 days with no meds then we get a new prescription & meds (which they now add sucrose too instead) and its a months supply with 14 days expiry from manf, 12 days from when we receive it!!! Waiting to see what arrives at pharmacy tomorrow!! Why they change suppliers I don't know!

Bloody nora pet what a nightmare. Yes Harry is on Ranitidine but Archie wasn't a refluxer so didn't need anything....our ranitidine is just put in a brown bottle with a pharmacy label so hope it doesn't expire!
