Hair Thinning

Postby fairycake » Thu Jul 28, 2011 4:40 pm

Hi

Does anyone know anything that's good for stopping hair thinning or a special shampoo or vitamins or something, i have always had good strong thick hair but in the past 6 months have noticed gradual hair thinning at the front and sides of my head, after washing my hair its okay for the first day but then the next day it looks terrible it kind of sticks to my head, looks unwashed and greasy, limp and thin.

I am not currently taking any medication

can anyone advise any shampoo's or vitamins or medication? or food with omega oils? does that make any difference?

thanks!

Yes! Get yourself to Lush and buy a solid shampoo called "New". It's a herbal shampoo and is specifically for this problem and alopecia. It stimulates re-growth. I've used it and it does work. I used to work at Lush and we had a few customers (one with alopecia) who swore by it. It's worth the money. Ask for a thickening conditioner too. xx

This is a problem for a lot of people, including women. There are certain shampoos that can help strengthen your hair and keep it healthy. These don't always work, unfortunately. Have you ever looked into hair replacement? If you're losing enough hair that it is noticeable to others, this might be an option to at least look into.

My hair was so thin after I had Sonny that I looked into a hair transplant. Someone recommended I take sea kelp tablets (from Holland& Barrett) and I noticed a huge improvement. It's meant for weight loss and thyroid problems but worked well on my hair loss. It took a month or so to see any difference and I stopped taking it late last year but have just restarted as I have noticed the plug hole is becoming blocked again after I wash my hair. I take the maximum dose of 3 tablets a day. My SIL is a hair dresser and she noticed a massive difference in my hair when I was taking it and has recommended it to lots of her clients now.
