deposits on retina

Postby spooh_mcq » Mon Jul 05, 2010 2:23 pm

Hiya Ladies,

Just looking for some info. I had my eyes tested a couple of weeks ago - I wear glasses and contacts - and they took photographs of my retinas. They showed up some deposits on my left retina which usually indicates that the blood vessels are leaking (this is called drusa or something like that). The optician asked if I was diabetic and I said no but I have PCOS which can mess with insulin etc. Anyway, I had to go to my GP to get checked out but everything is normal. I'm a bit worried as the optician implied that there must be an underlying health problem causing this and its usually diabetes but I'm not diabetic. Has anyone else had a similar issue with deposits on retinas?

Thanks,

Suzi
