Irritable Bowel Syndrome and PCOS

I'm new! so please be gentle!

I am very sorry if my post seems graphic but i am trying to be polite. If you are easily offended then please don't keep reading!

I have IBS and PCOS.

I have had everything possible to treat the IBS, seen specialists etc, but they determined it was 'Stress Related' and i would 'Just have to get on with it' so here i am.

I have known about the PCOS for about 7 years but have had it much longer. I am not being treated for it as my GP says there is no point until i want to concieve.

I have been having sporadic bleeds and intense pain for about 3 months but now i am really worried.

I have had terrible symptoms with the IBS and took some Bisocodyl tablets. They worked and woke me up at 5 am this morning. After the deed was done i noticed i had started a bleed. But it was different, it didnt look like normal bleed it was a much intense red-pink colour.

Has anyone else found this?

Hi there,i also have IBS and PCOS with all the little symptoms,weight gain,no periods,facial hair,moods,etc ( also have an iritable blader,real mixed up woman or what,caused i think by the IBS )Funnily my mum had probs conceiving and also has iritable blader and ibs allthough it wasnt diagnosed when she had me and my 2 bros.I have it the other way though,im never out the loo sometimes.I found out i had PCOS at 21 but allways had bad periods,hevy,none existant etc,then at 21 i had m/c after taking clomid.I was ill the night i lost baby and had trouble with IBS nearly every period since. I am on codeine phosphate for the pain and loperamide for the runs.I take these every day wich controls it but if i have a reallly bad day its murder.The only time i felt well was when i was on a excluson diet from hospital nd when i was on reductil for weight loss.Think the reductill slowed all system down but it was brill.Actally enjoyed my life rather than lving it from toilet to toilet.There are a lot of sites on here about IBS and PCOS,we are trying to work out f there is a link as a lot of ladies seem to have both.Have a good look around the boards,everyone is friendly and there is allways omeone who has been there and got the t shirt whatever the problem.Good luck and welcome.

I have just been to see my GP and he advised me that bleeding in this way was normal with IBS and PCOS.

And as for the pain and discomfort-

DRUM ROLL........

JUST HAVE TO GET ON WITH IT.

oh yes, happy day.

I enjoy being in pain.

Sorry for the mini rant, but just wanted to say that having the two together is normal so if anyone happens to come across this thread they have no need to worry.... (Apparently)
