Our meeting on Monday 1 June went very well - about 9 of us were there. We had a very interesting talk from Kate Tierney, a local aromatherapist who has PCOS herself, and who has spent a lot of time researching PCOS and how aromatherapy massage and other alternative treatments can help.

Let me know if you'd like me to give you Kate's contact details. I've already been for 2 massages and found them very beneficial.

Our next meeting is on Monday 3 August at 7pm in the upstairs function room at the Parkway Tavern, next to Bristol Parkway station. The speaker will be from SKIN, a Bristol clinic that helps a lot of girls with their PCOS symptoms.

Hope to see you there - pass the details on to anyone else you know in the area.

See you soon

Postby Katharine M Barnes » Tue Jul 07, 2009 4:49 am

Hello,

Verity's conference in Reading is on Sat 3 October. I shall be going and can offer 2 people a lift. The conferences are usually excellent. They are usually all-day events.

See the Verity website for details. You need to reserve and pay for your place. Numbers are limited.

Let me know if you'd like a lift.

The Bristol group met on 3 August. 11 of us came along and shared experiences of our PCOS journey. As usual, there were lots of topics of common interest.

The speakers were from SK:N, a nationwide skin clinic with a branch in Bristol (see http://www.sknclinics.co.uk/skin/clinic-bristol.html). The clinic does laser hair removal, treating lots of ladies with PCOS. They also offer medication and other treatments for acne and other skin problems. There is a resident dermatologist - seeing her privately can be a lot faster than waiting for an NHS referral, but you can also take the NHS route if you prefer. The talk was very interesting and we all learned a lot.

Our next meeting is on Monday 19 October at 7pm in the upstairs function room at the Parkway Tavern, next to Bristol Parkway station, when we'll be having a talk on nutrition. Hope you can make it!

Hi

I'm new to Verity as was only diagnosed last week. I'm in Swindon but think Bristol is my closest group so I'm going to try and come to the meeting on the 19th October - esp as it's on nutrition as this is what I've found most interesting in all the reading I've done so far.

How long to the meetings usually last - I need to check train times.

Thanks

Beth

As I've not heard back from my earlier post about this, or to an email that I sent to Katherine Barnes, should I assume that thise event is not taking place? I am reluctant to travel from Swindon for something that may not be happening, but I am interested in the nutritional treatment of PCOS so would like to attend if the event is running.

Could someone please let me know.

Thanks

Beth
