hello ladies!

Postby emma1981 » Thu Nov 08, 2007 5:10 pm

Hi girls, well i am one of your moderators and although i am quite new to Verity i am not new to PCOS.

A bit about me: I am 26 years old and live in Scotland on the west coast. I am getting married next year in August and am currently a part-time student (mature student apparently!!) studying Social Sciences and slowly working towards a degree in Psychology. I live with my lovely fiance and our 2 little dogs Bailey and Charlie who are little monkeys!

A bit about my PCOS: I was diagnosed in 1999/2000 and have struggled with my weight since then. So anyone else with weight problems i can sympathise all too well! I have tried Metformin for about a year but it didnt seem to help me. After successfully losing about 4 stone in weight i managed to conceive naturally after a few years of trying however we sadly lost our angel Lewis in February 07 6 months into the pregnancy. However we love to talk about him & he remains a huuuggee part of our lives!! Since losing him i have again gained weight and the PCOS is affecting me considerably again, so Clomid looks like its in the near future for us.

So thats a bit about me girls and i look forward to getting to know all of you better! If you ever need any help please don't hesitate to ask one of the moderators.

Emma xx :D

Hi Ladies,

My name is Claire, and I currently live in Stockton-on-Tees although I may be moving very soon. I am 24 on the 12th November and I live with my wonderful fiance Peter. Pete has a daughter who is an absolute gem and always helps me out. I have just started work as a Admin Assistant for Black & Decker and loving every minute of it.

I was diagnosed with pcos in February 2005 after TTC since June 2003 as docs had told us to do first. I havn't had much luck with gynaes as I have been to 3 different ones and they all tell me to go back on the pill which would solve all my problems (apparently)! Any hoo we have now decided to give the specialists a miss and try and go it alone for a while and see what happens.

I am here every day so if you ever need anything please feel free to talk to me .

Hi there!

Well I'm Dawn or MrsB - I answer to both in real life too! lol

I live in a wee village called Insch, thats about 25 miles north of Aberdeen. I live with my darling hubby (today is a good day - he's away at work  ) and our 2 dogs - a rescue mutt called Toby who is 4-ish, and a border terrier called Archie who is 2 - they really are my substitute babies! I enjoy walking the dogs, do a little gentle hillwalking when the weather is good, and adore baking - I find it really helps relieve stress. I also do cross stitch and read a lot. I also have a strong interest in tarot and how our bodies react with the world around us - I'm a closet dippy hippy really!

About the PCOS - well I've know about it for 15 years now, so I guess you could say I'm an old hand, but still learning! I have some of the symptoms - weird menstrual cycle, overweight, get some hair on my tummy and chest (although not as much as some ladies) and get the odd break out of spots. We are currently trying for number 1 - it'll be 3 years in February. We are currently undergoing treatment with the Aberdeen fertility clinic and are using clomid (onto cycle 7 this time round - had 8 cycles with an ex) with a possible 3 more cycles to go. Onto gonadatrophin injections after the new year if we don't have a bfp before then.

I'm on here quite a lot, so feel free to pm me, or shout anytime.
MrsB was time for a name change :)

Hello everyone.

Well I am Ann or Loachy, I answer to both so feel free to use them.

I live in the lovely county of Kent, with my lovely husband. I am a keen hockey player, love reading, playing computer games etc etc.

I have been ttc no 1 since June 2001, having treatment of Metformin, Clomid, IUI and IVF. I was lucky in September 2006 to finally get pregnant after IVF, but sadly lost my little boy in February. I have since had another IVF attempt which failed and plan another go in February.

If anyone needs any advice feel free to contact me, I am always around.

Hi ladies,

I'm Angie, and I was diagnosed in 1993, aged 17. I've had a lot of the many problems with PCOS, including several m/c. I'm based in London, living with my wonderful husband, and my little boy, conceived with the aid of clomid.

I'm online quite a lot, so please feel free to contact me if you want to. :)

Hi All,

I'm Marie (or Buzz, whatever you fancy), i'm 26 (for 9 more days) and I live in Hertfordshire with my OH Marc and my gorgeous little boys Louie who is 5 and Sonny who is 1. I co-own a property lettings business with my 3 older brothers and I do all the day-to-day runnings and problem solving, basically I do all the work and my broters share the profits - how did that happen?!?!?!

I was diagnosed when TTC number 2 (Louie was a big giant accident!) but was suspected of having PCOS since 16. Have many of the glorious symptoms including the weight, hair loss and excess hair (dont ya just love it  ).

I'm online everyday so will help as much as I can.

Bye for now,

Hello Im Holly

I was diagnosed 20 years ago when very little was known about PCOS, was told I wouldnt ever be able to have children, but now have Noah who was born in Jan 06 (via IUI).

Im 39 and been married to Jim (an artist) for nearly 15 years, we live in Midhurst, West Sussex and have 5 jack russells.

Have a few of the lovely side effects, hairyness being my main problem but have been having laser and its made a massive difference. Not to mention the extra couple of ripples around the middle!!

Found Verity nearly 10 years ago and it made a MASSIVE difference to my life so its nice to try and give something back.
