How do I access treatment?! Help!!

Postby Tootiredtofight » Sun Jan 17, 2016 7:17 pm

Hi All,

I was finally diagnosed in 2013 after a 17 year long battle for diagnosis. The diagnosis came just as I was referred to s fertility specialist as I was TTC. However, at the time I was unknowingly pregnant so was given the news and shown the door. And that was it.

I've had no help or support and each time I see a GP I am constantly nagged about my weight, blood pressure etc etc, but no one will look at my records and acknowledge the PCOS and treat the root cause of my symptoms. Don't get me wrong, I know it's not the cause of all evil but I need some help to deal with the symptoms as they are becoming unbearable and no one will help. I've asked for a referral to a specialist as the GP won't help but she declined to refer me as the condition is 'common'.

Does anyone know how I can access any help?!

Thank you!

Yes a common condition with huge health risks if not managed - check the NICE guidelines for pcos as it should help.

I really like the 5:2 diet as it doesn't feel like a diet, I am careful on the other 5 days though but I have to say it has changed how I feel about hunger totally
