Pain 3 weeks after mc

Postby Jaffa1 » Fri Jan 17, 2014 11:17 pm

I just wanted to ask if anyone had this too, starting with a very quick history of me. I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks involving severe pain, collapsing and vomiting, an ambulance, in A&E on a drip, and a ERPC 2 days later on New Year's Eve. 3 weeks later now my bump has gone down but it's still hard to pee (I thought that everything being squished by a bump was causing it but obv not if its still going on) and I have pain now and then right in the centre down low (womb?) I went to a walk in centre today, then sent to A&E but I have no infection apparently. Doc said it all just needs to heal still. Really? Should it still be hard to pee and be painful inside?! An evening in A&E sobbing was not what I wanted - I thought I was ok and some antibiotics (again) would clear it up,but it's dragging on and on. I feel like the doc was fobbing me off? But maybe she was right? Thanks girls dont know what i'd do without you xxx
Edit to say I can't count, it been 2.5 weeks since op but 3 since bleeding started. So I guess that's not long really. I'm probably being dramatic because I feel super sad today but it felt good to vent.

I had a mmc at 9+ weeks, and miscarried naturally, but I was quite sore down there for probably 2-3 months. Sex was quite painful some days, it felt like my cervix was really bruised and sore. I'd say I felt fine after four months, and my mc wasn't as traumatic as yours. HTH

Hi jaffa, Sorry to hear of your terrible time with your mmc and the after effects your suffering from. i too had a mmc and had an erpc for which i didnt have a great recovery from too so just thought i would say it will get better but i did felt rotton for a good few week after, very sore in womb area and painful and had to have a 2nd course of antibiotics because of infection not clearing.. see how your couse of antibiotics goes and if you still dont feel right then i would go back and get checked again as its not right for it to go on and on but it does need a few weeks to heal if it was particulary traumatic. It took me by surprise the recovery as everything i had read about erpc was that is was quick, safe and recovery quick but it definately wasnt.
big higs and hope you feel better soon x

Hi Blossom thanks for your advice. I think I'm just surprised at how long it takes to heal. Like you I thought that it would all be over and done with after the ERPC. Especially as you hear of people getting BFP straight after. As much as I am in a hurry to try again my body says no so I'm going to let it heal. Sorry for your losses I hope you get your BFP soon xx

Hi Jaffa,
I am so sorry to hear you are still in pain. Just wanted to say I had a mmc last week at 9 weeks and an ERPC yesterday and I don' t have any pain when I pee. Can't imagine dtd yet but don't feel too sore either. I would definitely go and get checked again.

Oh no I am sorry to hear that! It's a horrible thing to happen. Thank you for your message. I went to the docs today and he said I'm still healing and the fact I'm so upset is affecting my body but it will gradually fade. He was very nice and keen for me not to worry and to know he and the nhs are there for me! He was lovely. I feel a lot better. It's good to have a big old cry. Big hugs x

I thought I'd write a final update to give others who sadly go through this some reassurance. I now feel much better, 100% physically and about 75% emotionally. It does get better. Can't wait to get trying again, just need a blinking period then ill feel back to normal! Thanks everyone for your support. Xxx

Hi Jaffa, just wanted to say thanks for posting this and I'm so sorry to hear what you've been through. I was actually following your earlier posts when you got you bfp. I had a terrible mc experience aswell after discovering an empty sac at 10wks. My experience started on Wednesday with two unsuccessful rounds of medical management, then the doctor trying to pull it out with forceps then finally a D&C last night. I'm relieved but very sore and completely heartbroken. It's really reassuring to hear that your recovering well xxx

Thank you for your message. I wrote in more detail on your thread. I can assure you even though it is the most painful time I ever had it does fade away. Never forgotten but much less painful. I am hosting my best friends baby shower on Sunday and I NEVER thought this would be possible for me to do but with the support of good friends and time to grieve I feel ready. You will get through this chicken xx

I feel very sad today. I had a very early mc a couple of weeks ago, physically I'm ok as it was basically a terrible period (1 week late after 10 days of bfps) but I just can't get myself back to being cheerful. I'm normally cheery, and I don't feel happy at all. I cry at silly things. I can't bear the thought of getting out of bed but obviously I have to. Today I got stuck in a traffic jam for 45 mins, turned into a petrol station, and just sobbed. Then I just gave up trying to get anywhere and went home. My poor gran is in hospital 2 hours away and I couldn't even manage to carry on and visit her! I felt like a rotten grandchild. :-(
