Is it time to give up??

As some of you you may know my long terrible story but for those that don't. I had two early miscarraiges before undergoing a few tests which reveled I have a clotting problem called Hughes Syndrome. I then had a third pregnancy on aspirin but after seeing a heartbeat at 6-8-9 weeks had a mmc at 12 weeks (baby dies at 10 weeks) I then paid to see a consultant in London who performed some more specialist tests which showed even on aspirin my blood was clotting too much and so 150mg aspirin and heparin was prescribed along with progesterone and high dose folic acid. I then had a cervical cancer scare and had to have a Lletz treatment so now there will be questions over my cervix. I had a chemical pregnancy in the summer before finally conceiving in November. We had an early scan yesterday where I should have been 7+1 but all they could see was a sac no fetal pole so something that only looked 5-6 weeks along although it was difficult to see as a have a severely tilted uterus but to prepare for the worst. I will get confirmation next week unless I miscarry in the mean time.

I was just about to move onto IVF but as its so grueling and as my body seems totally incapable of carrying a baby and I don't think I can take another miscarriage should I just stop now and look into other options or carry on one last time???

Hi Gemstone

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time... Hang in there. Try the IVF.

Oh gemstone, I'm so sorry you're having to go through this again. I would try the ivf you may get a better egg cos I would presume they would monitor for the best and go with that one. But of course give yourself a break if you feel you need to.
Sending hugs xx

Hi gemstones,

A huge hug for you. You've had a really tough time and it's not surprising you're questioning giving up. I also think that ivf would be worth a shot.... If you don't try, you'll always wonder what if? It's easy for us all to say that though. It is fairly intensive so I'd make sure you're in the right place for it all first. Maybe take a bit of time out to refresh and then give it a go. If you're not fully sure, it's maybe a sign you just need a bit of a break first.
I didn't have as many mcs as you but I lost 2 pregnancies, one late on. I also had 12 cycles of clomid, 2 IUI goes before IVF. I needed Clexane, which is basically the same as heparin, aspirin, progesterone injections and also low dose steroids. There was a question over my cervix after my second tri loss. I had a disastrous pregnancy ended in DS being born at 27wks. We then had the joys of 9+ weeks in neonatal care! BUT I am blessed to have a beautiful son and despite it taking 4 years and much heartache and worry, it was worth every single second. I used to read posts like this and could never imagine it turning out OK. That was them and I was the unlucky one! Despite all that and the fact I'll probably have to have IVF again, a difficult pregnancy full of worry and likely premature birth, I'm planning on trying again!! I'm scared to be honest but happy endings do happen and although you'll never forget the journey and your losses, it is possible for what you want most to be achieved.
Obviously no one knows what will happen. There are no guarantees. But you are strong. Everyone feels tired of being strong at times during the TTC journey if it lasts a long time but you'll rally round and find that strength again.
Hope might be a good person to speak to. She had 7 first tri losses before her take home baby and now she has 2!!
Massive hugs to you xxx

Hi Gem, sorry you're going thru this (((hugs))) x

I went through a 5 yr ttc journey, and suffered 7 first trimester mc's- 2 which were mmc's.
We had iui and one round of ivf.

When we had the ivf the drs gave me all sorts of drugs from et-
Clecxaine/ aspirin/ cyclogest/ high dose folic acid and metformin.
And it worked :) I did bleed with my pg as I did with #2 but I carried to full term.

I found the whole time really difficult but what I would say is try no to loose hope.

Hi Everyone thank you for your kind words and support. We had a little Christmas miracle this week at our scan as unexpectedly there was a little baby and a heartbeat. Totally petrified and I really hope I don't jinx it but I am going to try and relax and enjoy being pregnant for however long it lasts. xxxxx
