***LAST FEW PLACES REMAINING***

Whereas our larger conferences cater for around 100 delegates, the Emotions Workshop will be more personal as numbers have been restricted to 30 people which allows for more time for attendees to ask questions in a more personal atmosphere. In addition, by using a practical ‘hands on’ approach, members who attend will gain even more information and benefit from the workshops by being actively involved in the discussions and activities.

So, why are we running a workshop dedicated to emotions? In a recent poll on our website, out of 828 women polled, 27.9% stated they had a poor self image whilst only 2.6% said that PCOS did not affect their emotions at all.

What is PCOS – how does it affect women?
Anna Cassin, Registered Nurse, Verity Trustee
Anna will be starting the day off with a brief overview of PCOS to put the emotional issues within the context of the condition. She will be addressing the daily practical impact of PCOS on women.

Psychological aspects of PCOS
John Barry, Psychologist, University of Westminster
John will be speaking on the psychological aspects of PCOS, in particular addressing the recent research and theories including how PCOS can lead to some women having poor self image, and emotional highs and lows.

Using Hypnosis to Help with Symptoms of PCOS
Peter Field, Hypnotherapist, Peter Field Hypnotherapy
Peter will provide tips and techniques that can assist women with PCOS, from dealing with mood changes, increasing confidence levels and restoring a positive self-image.

Strategies for positive thinking and managing your emotions
Laura Budden, Therapy Services Manager, Cygnet Healthcare
Laura will be discussing various techniques – including cognitive behavioural therapy - to assist women with PCOS and helping to deal with the emotional impact on their daily lives.
