That's lovely to hear, first thing I did when I got in from work was check whether there was any news!
Try and relax a little now. The odds of miscarriage are so much reduced once they've seen little ones heartbeat.

Thank you that was so lovely of you and thank you for all of your support. Yerp I think I am more re-assured now although I will probably still worry abit on days but seeing the heart beat was such an amazing experience. I have heard a few people say and have read to once you see a heart beat the miscarriage rate goes down to 5%. I now have a 10 week private scan booked in and I will have my 12 scan just before Christmas week just want to make sure everything is ok and that will stop me worrying. Have you decided to tell anybody your fantastic news yet or you and hubby keeping it to your self for a little longer? Xxxxx

Never ever google ..... When I was 6 weeks they thought it was ectopic then it wasnt, then at 10 weeks I had bright red bleeding for 2 weeks and everyone said it was a mc and I googled for england and scared myself to death with all the horror stories (you rarely read good things when you google), but it was a ruptured blood vessel and Noah is now a very handsome 9 year old who was well worth all the trouble conceiving etc - the body goes through a hell of a lot of changes, you sort of dont expect it so early on in the pregnancy but things are stretching and bean is bedding down for the long run so twinges, some blood etc is very very common, in fact I know more ladies that have bled in the first 12 weeks than havent!!

Hi hols, thanks for your reply I agree with you google dosent half scare and you make you constantly worry!! Sounds like you went through a lot in your first trimester and must of been hard and a worrying journey but despite all what happened you had a lovely healthy boy, congrulations. I agree the body does change soo much but I feel mine hasn't I don't have many pregnancy symptoms at all and now am 9+3 and most symptoms have seemed to have worn of, well the ones that I has only tiredness and sore breast. I am currently worrying more so now as I had a scan on nhs baby measured 7+5 =13.2mm then had a private scan at 9+1 baby measured 9wks then I had a nhs scan at what was suppose to be 10wks baby only measured 9+3 =26mm. So now that I am worried baby has only grown 3 days in 7 and am thinking am going to miscarry, awful to think but it's hard not to worry and I only went and googled and now I can't help but worry and have to wait for my 12wk scan now to see what is happening which is 21st dec so hope baby catches up and is healthy and well all 3 scans I have seen a heartbeat but can't help but worry. Thank for your reply. Sorry for the essay xxx

Hi Amy
At my 12 week scan they said that scans are only ever an estimate and are +/-5 days accurate. Hence why they only give you an estimated due date. Your baby is so tiny at the moment that even being just a little bit out on the measurement can change your dates by a couple of days. I had 2 people measure me at my 12 week one and they were 4 days apart with their measurements! The student was actually closer to what I thought I was,and the results of my early scan, than the experienced sonographer.
I know how worried you must be, I still am a bag of nerves myself, but please try to be reassured by what we are all saying. Especially because scans are +/- 5 days, which will still fit with your dates.

I hope you are ok xxx

Hi woody
Thank you for your reply and the information that you have given me I was so worried that baby had only grown 3days out of 7 but give or take 5 days like you say and hopefully all is well, was just so scared something was wrong and thinking the worst I thought I may miscarry as again my main concern baby only growing 3 days out of 7 but what you have told me has give me some reassurance and hope, although Think il probably worry now up until my 12wk scan just hoping all is well and baby is growing with a strong heart beat. No way it just goes to show doesn't it how much things can change as you had two different measurements on the same day and so happy for you that all is well and baby is healthy! Hopefully you can try to relax abit more now and enjoy your pregnancy. Thank you am just hoping the weeks go fast until my 12wk scan now. I do feel better in myself now knowing this information plus there was a heart beat to so they are good points. So glad that you and baby are well xxxxx

I'm 16 weeks today. My edd is 21st May. At my scan when I thought I was 12+3 (by fertility friend and my early scan) they measured me as 13+2 (and 12+5 by the student) but are using the 13+2 date. It'll only make a difference to anything if I have to be induced.
When is your 12 week scan? I find out the gender on new years eve!
Hopefully with all the Christmas craziness time will zoom for you. I'm still anxious, think I will be until I meet little bean. I've had to start taking medication again which I'm gutted about, they say it's safe but I am still worried.
The responsibility of growing a little life can be very overwhelming xx

No way I feel time has flown for you bet you don't feel the same way tho, as it does seem to be a worrying journey at times it can causes us to feel anxious as it's always nice to know baby is okay . Aww that is the loveliest new year present ever, let me know how you get on . Yerp I am hoping time will go fast for me my 12wk scan is on the 21st dec so hoping all is well and good news then all round for Christmas. I never new I would worry so much after having a scan and being back dated yano after one week fine and next week not. Am just remembering what you said tho. Think il be the same as you If all is well il be anxious up un till I meet baby to. I know medication isn't the nicest of things to take but if it's going to help you and safe for baby then your doing the right thing by you both and it's not that you have done anything to result in taking the medication sometimes it's just one of those things, am on medication now two different types so I know how you may feel. Soo much responsibility and we just want to make sure everything we do is right. Do you know if a doppler would work for me now or how Long I'd have to wait to use one? Xxx

I got my doppler at 11 weeks but it said from 12 weeks on it. I think it's because of the worry it can cause if you don't find a heartbeat. Under 12 weeks the baby is small and can be difficult to find. Mine has been a lifesaver for my anxiety though especially now I'm having to take meds. The meds I have to take are a class c so it's a risk/benefit thing for me and the baby. But I was getting poorly which wouldn't be good for the baby. They are keeping me on a low dose so hopefully everything will be ok.
Not long until the 21st! Xx

Thanks I was thinking if to buy one in positive frame of minding thinking all will be well on the 21st because if I ordered it on the 21st it's Christmas delivery and could take ages plus I want it for Christmas Day to hear baby heart beat if it picks it up so am like am I positive and buy one or do I just wait now, all because of having two scans one week apart but seen a heart beat so that a good thing just hoping like you said that dates are not accurate and can be out and baby all good. A, glad that the baby doppler has eased your mind and can out any worries at bay for you so they are defo worth the money. Am sure all will be fine and well and they will make sure you are monitored accordingly and if you have any worries you can always ring your mw or GP or speak to a specialist and a BNF could give you some re-assurance, am sure all will be well docs have so much knowledge plus they will see things like this all the time am sure all will be okay. Thanks I know but feels ages away for me haha. I am having a early Xmas dinner with my family as mum is working all Xmas and no one knows yet so hoping all is well so I don't worry all the weekend before and can't enjoy myself but glad to be finding out before Xmas tho xxx

Only you can make that decision. I found it reassuring but there was one time it took me a few minutes to find bean and I was terrified so I can see both sides of it.

Are you the sort of person that could get it but wait a bit before you use it so you know it won't get stuck in Xmas post? Or would you be too tempted? I know I would be.

I think the fact you've had 3 scans, all with heartbeats, is so positive. Hold onto that x

That is very true, I think am going to wait till my scan on the 21st make sure all is well and order it that day because I know I wouldn't be able to wait if it came early haha. That's what I am trying to do is think positive that all 3 scans baby heart beat was there and they said all is well, still can't help but worry just hoping that being back dated in a week doesn't mean to much and all is healthy and well, just the thought I had in my head was omg baby only grown 3 days out of 7 that was my worry but like you explained you have been given two different measurements in one day. Thanks. Xxxx
