Hey still a mummy 13. I had my stitch at 19 weeks and basically put myself on modified bed rest until 36 weeks when it was taken out. I then was induced at 38+2 and baby took 4 days to arrive. I had to have the pessary and two lots of gel before breaking my waters and the drip so my cervix seemed quite strong. They told me that once baby reached 32 weeks babies head is resting on my pelvis and so the cervix doesn't have to work as hard until your hips widen and then the head is pressing on the cervix again. I was 3/5th engaged for two weeks before induction so really thought she would arrive before but didn't. I couldn't relax until the moment she was born which I think after our losses is perfectly normal. I had miscarried 4 times previously and have hughes syndrome so up until she was born I had a 20% chance of losing her due to my thick blood but everything was fine. Keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow. I am sure everything will be fine xxxx

I'm not a success story yet, but had my stitch placed at 17+6 and I'm currently 21+1. I'm back at work just getting on with it lol rest as much as I can when I'm at home. Had my anomaly scan on Thursday and everything looked well, my little boy is doing well! It's a horrible situation to be in but will be totally worth it when our little bundles are here

Can I ask what the stitch does and why you were advised to have it ?
Gemstone - how did they find out about the blood thinking condition ?
Thanks

I had my stitch after giving birth to my baby last year at 24 weeks. There was no reason for this which is why they think I have cervical incompetance. Must have displayed all the classic signs. The stitch is to hopefully prevent the cervix dilating prematurely again :) wish us luck!!!

I had a short cervix that kept shortening due to the removal of precancerous cells so they scanned me regularly and once it got to 2cm they put the stitch in to stop premature labour.

I found out about the clotting issue with the multiple miscarriage tests they performed after my 3rd miscarriage. I was diagnosed from the basic thrombophilia blood tests which was lucky as it doesn't always show up. I then went to London to have a specialist test to determine how much anticoagulation I needed. Do you think you have an issue? Feel free to PM or ask some more questions :)

Ma5, they think I have incompatent cervix due to having my little girl at 24 weeks and losing 2 sets of twins b4 12wk gestation and a singleton after 12weeks gestation.

Do you think you may need a stitch fitted? X

Thanks everyone - interesting to know !. I don't have a known problem with my cervix but I do have a blood clotting Prob which was confirmed in early stages of pregnancy with TEG test and in my last pregnancy I had a growth issue with baby. It also looks like the baby is quite small this time around.
The reason I ask about stitch is because I have now had 2 bouts of bleeding this pregnancy in 2nd trimester. They can't find any reason for the bleeding but I'm getting quite worried.

Wishing you all a H & H 9 months !
