Hello everyone. How are you all? Hope we have some happy ladies and babies.

I'm 37 weeks tomorrow and have a scan to check the position of this naughty baby as she is (in my opinion) not head down, or if she is then she is also feet down as all my kicks are down on my bladder still. She is also measuring small but I'm not too worried about that as I'm pretty slight and short and I am gaining weight which must be baby as it's not anywhere else but my bump. Also going to a talk on water birth at the hospital tonight which should be interesting.

Anything to report ladies? We must be due more babies soon.

Xx

Oh my word. I'm having a c section on Monday. She is breech and underweight and since she is full term they want her out as she will grow better and be looked after better apparently! I am in shock! This is going to be a tiny one. How scary.

Hi Jaffa

Try not to worry, the important thing is this issue has been spotted so you can give your baby the best care. You also have a few days to mentally prepare yourself. You may want to get some c-section support briefs for afterwards. I got mine from mothercare and they do help. I also found that after the initial few days of bleeding super sanitary towels where better than maternity pads as they provided better protection. If you are planning on breast feeding, do ask about how this c-section may affect you. It took me a bit longer for the milk to come in so I had to use some top up formula, however you should be able to still give your baby it's first feed (and subsquent feeds) with colustrum. Helaina is on the small side considering she was born over 40 weeks, however she is making up for it now with the amount of milk she is demanding. I know it is disappointing not to have a natural birth but the important thing is both of you get through the birth safely.

Best of luck for Monday

Good luck Jaffa. My waters went at 36 weeks (35 by my calculations) and Molly was 5lb 4oz when she was born....she was totally fine love so try not to worry. Didnt need any help with her breathing or anything. She struggled with breast feeding as she was premature, she latched on fine but didnt have the strength to suck as breast feeding is harder for baby. We went onto expressing but it would have been good to know that as no one told us so I was blissfully unaware she may struggle.

Poppy was equally born at 36 weeks and she was and is absolutely fine. I agree I wasn't told it would be difficult although I also have inverted nipples so struggled anyway. Monday is my birthday so great birth date ;-) ;-)

Thank you everyone! I think I've got my head round it now. Been for 2 lots of steroid injections to prepare her lungs better for the world. She is about 4lb according to their scan estimate so I've been madly buying all the tiny baby grows and nappies my town has to offer (not many!) Should have enough if hubby brings the dirty grows home from hospital once and washes them! Exciting!

We had nothing little with it being a shock and she was fine (just drown) in newborn vests and bodysuits with the sleeves rolled up so if needs be she can wear them whilst the washers on!!

Boots.com deliver to your local store next day - I have used it lots and it's fab. Plus George at asda do click and collect next day. You really don't need that much but I would recommend getting a few tiny baby things as Georgia was 5lbs 10 and I found we needed it. But they grow quick so she only needed it for a couple of weeks. Very exciting xxx can't wait for pics. I have been avidly watching for you and Amber as we have talked in the past.

Congrats Amber heleina is beautiful so pleased you went with you gut and everything worked out great xx
