Evening all,

Jaffa - hope you get some answers soon but that's great news about the heartbeat! Bet it made you feel so relieved.

Amber ) I hope you get your 12 week scan soon; you think you would have had a letter weeks ago.

I just have a quick question re symptoms:
I am 4wks 5days (or 19dpo!) and so far my symptoms are extremely mild: tingly breasts, cramps and looking bloated even though I don't feel it particularly. Also had headaches but gave up tea, coffee & chocolate last week so probably due to that! Is it normal at this stage not to have any of the typical symptoms? I had dizziness, constipation and nausea for approx 2wks with my previous pregnancy, but as I didn't find out I was expecting till late, its hard to pinpoint exactly when i had those symptoms, but i think it may have been 6-8wks.
What symptoms did you all have at this early stage of pregnancy?

I think for me it was things you could easily ignore if you weren't Ttc (so more in tune with your body).I had either constipation or the opposite, slight cramps, tingly breasts and slight nausea. My sense of smell was insane!

fmw - My sense of smell is really heightened - I keep opening the windows just to clear the air. When DH has been cooking (I just can't at the moment!) it makes me feel really sick. Nausea started just after 5 weeks for me and gradually got worse and worse over the next two or three weeks. It is still with me and I am 12 weeks on Wednesday. I haven't been able to cook or eat a proper meal in all this time. I am so looking forward for the sickness going, some women recover at about 12 weeks, however I think I am going to have to wait a bit longer. Tiredness is another symptom and I have also had quite a few headaches. Feel one coming on now so going to go to bed in a bit to sleep it off.

I only had my booking appointment last Wednesday which is why the letter hasn't arrived. I am sure it will turn up this week, I couldn't do today or tomorrow anyway.

Jaffa - great news about your scan and seeing a heart beat I bet that was amazing feeling.

Fmw - I'm 5 weeks now and apart from really sore boobs (especially when getting up in the morning!) can't say I have any other symptoms that I don't normally get before a period like a bit of bloating etc so I'm finding it a bit scary! I felt a bit sick a few times but I'm not sure whether that's just feeling worried about things. I'm sure everything's fine for you and it does sound like you've felt quite a few symptoms I guess it's still very early days for us x

Just crashing for fmw. I had ZERO symptoms until about 8 weeks when nausea hit overnight. No sore boobies, needing to wee, tiredness, food aversions or anything. And I was looking! Please make the most of it. I moaned about not feeling pregnant and boy the pregnancy has killed me so far (obviously not lol) so don't worry x

Hi Jess daisy - welcome and congrats! Looks as though yourself, slk and me are expecting around the same time in February :)

Taj - Thanks for your post! I am 5wks +1 so probably too early for any drastic symptoms, although I have started to feel more tired. With my previously pregnancy I did suffer with nausea, dizziness etc. but it wasn't until approx. 6-8wks I think so I guess I should enjoy being symptom free whilst I can!

How is everyone else getting on?

I still haven't heard from the midwife about an appointment; was told I would hear in a week (which was a week ago!). How long do I leave it before chasing it up?

Welcome Jessdaisy - you are brave on telling your employer, I still haven't told mine and I am 12 weeks 2 days. Going to have to soon though as I am starting to show! Still I can understand if you are standing and lifting a lot as I found standing around made my sickness much worse.

I finally got my scan appointment in the post today. For next Tuesday and guess what I am away and told the midwife at my appointment last week. Luckily I chased it yesterday (after phoning around the houses) and managed to get it changed for 2nd July. Talk about cutting it fine, I will be just 14 weeks then! I am still having food aversions and nausea, I had hoped it would be gone by now. Going on holiday tomorrow and want to be enjoy a proper meal. I got my offer on my doctorate, so now need to come up with a plan on how I can do it round giving birth etc (as long as everything works out).

Planning to tell my employer about my pregnancy a week on Monday. I am not looking forward to it as I am concerned it will mess up my career plans. Still I will worry about that when I come back.

hope everyone is okay, some of you have been very quite recently!

xxx

Hi and welcome tracie I hope you have a worry free pregnancy.
Amber glad you got your appointment, have a nice holiday! Where are you going?
How are you all?
I just wrote a post but it disappeared. I feel very sick and am living off mash, pasta, and cereal with an apple and salad here and there. People at work are laughing at my food. I think they have guessed- I look preggers but it's just gas. My clothes don't fit so it's hard finding outfits that fit let alone hide my tummy.
No one has any clue about me in the system when I tried to rebook my booking in appointment so I had to start all over again with the doctor faxing the hospital. That's ok though, still only 6 and a half weeks.

Quick post for FMW, I had no real symptoms! My bbt wasn't that high and the only thing and I could say happened was I needed to wee overnight (but had a cold so was drinking loads and put it down to that)! Sore boobs, a bit of nausea, bloating and tiredness didn't kick in till later but I got off relatively lightly xxxx
