Huggies Nappies??

Postby allybo » Mon Apr 14, 2014 2:13 pm

Hi, I know I don't need them just yet but only realised that Huggies nappies are no longer available to purchase in UK :(

Looking for any recommendations for nappies that anyone has used in place of these, I used huggies with my DD back in 2009/2010 and am a bit lost all over again!!

thanks

Hi Ally,

Can't believe nappies will be back at our house soon too! We used Pampers nappies Pampers Newborn ones and then Pampers Active fit (liked these better than Pamper baby dry). I must say I found them very good, no nappy rash, dry feeling and didn't really have any leaks. This was some time ago so I know lots of people now use supermarket own brand ones and they get quite high ratings (like Aldi and Waitrose ones). Lots of my second time mum friends say they used cheaper own brand nappies this time, but was just discussing it with another friend and she said that recommended Aldi ones leaked and she ended up using Pampers as it saved on washing. I think I will get some Pampers newborn nappies and maybe then trial cheaper ones (I'll also see if I can bulk buy online).

When they discontinued Huggies I struggled to find another brand that didn't disagree with DS's bum - Pampers left him looking as if he had chemical burns on his bottom, with Asda and Sainsbury's ones producing much the same effect. Aldi ones, however, are absolutely fine, don't leak any more than any other brand (on him, at least!), and are super cheap :-)

thanks or the replies ladies. over in NI we don't have aldi or much of a choice other than Tesco, Asda or Sainsburys so it looks like it will be a bit of trial and error.

I tried pampers with DD1 and were the same with the really bad nappy rashes. they also leaked like bejeasus if left on longer than about 2 hours.

I was really sensitive to the smell of pampers but when we're not using cloth nappies, we love the Naty Naturebaby Eco ones that I buy at sainsburys. X

Yes Costco have buggies imported from USA. You need to check their sizing chart if I remember a flyer came through as it's slightly different.
I like morrisons own. They are made by kiddicare and a lot if people have said kiddicare nappies are the secret undiscovered best!!
