hi all...was wondering whether i could join this thread its still very early days but got my bfp this morning. I had IUI done 2 weeks ago so guess im around 4 weeks now. i have a early scan booked for the 3rd of january. I feel extremely lucky as we only actively started ttc in sept this year. My story in short is that we had IUI done in 2009 which resulted in a multiple pregnancy (quads), we had a reduction to twins at 14 weeks that was the most horrendous time of my life making that decision, unfortunately at 20 weeks they only found one heartbeat...needless to say it took us a long time to ttc again. our little boy will be 4 in april. So here i am again i can't actually believe it.

speak to you soon x x p.s thanks for reading xx

Welcome Laura - congratulations on your BFP! Sorry to hear you had such difficult time in 2009. It probably seems like long time until your scan, but it will go quickly as you have Christmas to distract you. I'm just over 8 weeks and I have one little girl who will be 4 in August.

Jaffa - lol to being hormonal! Everything makes me cry too, yesterday I went to my daughter's Nativity play, I would have felt emotional anyway but I guess hormones added to tears! Hope your scan went well today.

Tinker - hope you are well?

Not much to report here at the moment. I'm so hungry all the time, had to get up at 4am last night to make some toast because if I get hungry I get nausea. Looking forward to all the Christmas food!

Have a lovely weekend ladies. x

Hello Laura and welcome! I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy. Xx

Thanks Kat my scan was ok, it was dated at 7w2d which upset me a bit as the one ten days ago was 6w2d so that means it didn't grow entirely as much as it should but I guess everyone is different. At least all was well in there! I bought a size up in jeans today my tummy is so bloated. Can't wait til it's a proper bump and not just gas lol. Waiting for a midwife app now.

Hope your nausea calms down soon xx

Jaffa - I can understand how you got a bit upset about your scan. When you wait for your BFP so long you kind of want everything to be perfect, but you are right everyone is different. Also every scanning nurse is different or even same nurse at different times which I remember from follicle tracking scans. Just wanted to say that when I had my scan last week I noticed on the report it says 7w0d, but I know I was 6w5d do it is not so exact. Also I noticed after the dating it says +-5days next to it, so it's not so exact. Try not to worry, I think at this stage it is important that you little one is in the right place and great if they can see heartbeat. Lol to your gas tummy, same here. It's worse in the evening so I'm wearing nice stretchy leggings at home, but will probably have to invest in some bigger jeans too! Hope your mw appointment comes soon. They have given me a number to call on Monday to book a 12 weeks scan for January.

Hello to Tinker and Laura too. How are you?

thanks for the welcome Katss and Jaffa.

Really glad christmas is nearly here it will be a welcomed distraction I had some very light spotting yesterday in my knickers and on wiping sorry if tmi i guess this could of been implantation bleed? I have had a little bit of nausea last night and this morning but only slight. i had really bad morning sickness on my son so much so i ended up on iv fluids nearly every other week. They say every pregnancy is different so hoping this one is :) Are either of you taking pessaries? i have to take them until 12 weeks of pregnancy.

are you all nearly set for the big day? i still have lots to do, i havent wrapped a single present yet.
hope you all have a lovely weekend. xx

Hi All,
Congratulations Laura on your bfp! I got my bfp on Wednesday and think I was 4 weeks on Thursday so think our due dates will be very close.

Jaffa I agree with katts I don't think the scans are all that exact at this stage so try not too worry.
Hi Katts thanks for asking about me.

A quick question for Laura - I have just read on ttc thread about your follicle reduction where I am sure you said they left 3 there, well does that not give you a big chance of being pregnant with multiples again?

My story is quite long really so will try and shorten it significantly so you may get to the end!
TTC since 2004 - alot of clomid no ov, ov drilling - still no cycle, IVF 1 2008 (age 36) DS born 24.09.08. IVF2 2010 DS born 25.11.10, whilst bfing pos hpt natural 31.08.11 DD born 18.05.12. 11.12.13 bfp no. 4 (natural)! Age 42! Shocked DH - 1! Did a test as just felt different needed a wee in the night, boobs sore and bowels slowed down! Really delighted as Mum died half way through my pregnancy with DS and am looking forward to my swan song!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Hi tinker yes our due dates will be very close :) yes there is still a high chance of multiples this time round although when I had my first iui I didnt know about follicle reduction and think I had approx eight mature follicles I was on the nhs at this stage and we just put our trust in the fertility team and doctors, we weren't that knowledgeable about the ins and outs and just were so desperate for a baby we just went along with there advice after all they should know what they were doing.. It wasn't until my clinic asked for paper work and the fertility nurse saying this was why we concieved with quads and that if I presented to them in the clinic.with that many they wouldnt of gone ahead with the iui and they would offer a reduction. As it happened I produced roo many again and.had the reduction. They said they would leave either two or three behind.when I came out tgey said they had left 3.im not to worried if we concieve with twins but just hope we dont have quads again that would be my worst nightmare. I guess my scan will reveal all. We wont be be having anymore once we have been through this ttc journey. Xx

Hi Everyone,
Gosh I forgot how slowly this bit before scans and telling people this goes. So lovely to post something on here. Got clearblue digital to see the indicator said 2-3 weeks which is spot on for where I thought I was. How is everyone else?

Hi all just popping by to say I had some spotting over the weekend which the clinic said could be an implantation bleed as it wasn't fresh and it stopped altogether last night. Unfortunately it has started again this afternoon and this time red blood and cramping. So guess im out :( The clinuc just told me to increase my pessaries to two and phone tomorrow if it gets worse. They said they wouldn't scan me yet as they wouldn't be able to see anything. Although I thought they would do an internal to see if my cervix was open. Guess not :(

Hi everyone just a quick update...went to gp yesterday to have hcg bloods taken as bleeding stopped altogether again results were 386 which are in the normal range for 4/5 weeks so the dr said but then last night I passed so much that it was just soaking my sanitary towel and just coming out like someone had turned a tap on. This lasted for a couple of hours and tgen overnight it has stopped again to just a small amount of old brown discharge on wiping. I need to go back for more blood to compare hcg levels. The only thing that im so confused over is that I still have sore boobs.and woke.feeling nauseus surely thia should of stopped.... :/
