Babies Due May/June 2014

Postby WR83 » Wed Sep 18, 2013 3:59 pm

Hi all,

Well I am being brave and starting this thread as I want to enjoy every bit of this pregnancy for as long as it lasts. We have been TTC for almost 8.5 years and have tried pretty much every treatment option going. Our first IVF in 2011 was a BFN, our second last year was a BFP and we were over the moon but sadly I miscarried at 6w5d which was the worst thing I have ever been through. We waited a whole year to try again and have just finished our 3rd IVF attempt, things have seemed so much more positive this time, we had a good number of eggs collected, a high fertilisation and 1 great quality expanded blastocyst transferred on day 5 with another 3 frozen (we have never been lucky enough to have frozen before!!) The 2WW was ok but on Friday (13th of all days!!) with 4 days still to go until OTD, it all got too much and DH and I decided to test early, I tested at 5.30pm and I was so pleased it was a faint BFP, I did 3 different tests to make sure and all positive! It was OTD yesterday and 3 more tests all positive, darker lines and the digital days 'pregnant 2-3' so I am pleased as it confirms where I think I am which is 4w5d today! My hospital is a little strange in that they ask you to repeat test a week later and if still positive then they arrange an early scan for 2-3 weeks after that! So that's me, am completely nervous of a repeat of last time and another miscarriage, I know that no pregnancies are the same and that just because that happened last time that there is no reason it will happen again but that means I have to think logical and that's just not possible ha ha! I am trying to enjoy this and I do feel less stressed and anxious as last time, last time I was testing at least once a day and obsessing over everything, this time I am much more relaxed. I am going to test again Friday just for peace of mind and then again for my repeat test and plan to not test again unless I get really anxious. I am more tired than usual, have a headache pretty much all the time and my boobs are really sore and have been since we had embryo transfer.

That's enough waffle from me, I just wanted to create the group, as I couldn't see one already, and say hi to see if anyone was brave enough to come join me!? Xx

Well I did another HPT this morning as a bit of an interim between the 2 tests my clinic insist on before booking an early scan, a dark line appeared instantly and I thought if was the control until I realised I had the test the wrong way up and that was actually the test line! So I feel peace of mind as that's got to be a good thing that its so dark and came up before the control:

Well my repeat test was positive this morning :) have let the hospital know and we will have a scan some time the week beginning the 7/10 and they will call me at the end of next week with a date/time. I just need to get past the point we got to last time which was 6w5d and I am 5w4d today so its a little way to go yet. To see a baby on the scan will be AMAZING I just struggle to believe it will happen but I really hope it does!

Is there anyone else due in May/June who was brave enough to join me?! Xx
