Strollers one handed

Postby cliveceltic » Thu Apr 18, 2013 2:55 pm

Any suggestions. When Xanthe outgrows her car seat which attaches to our travel system I want to buy a stroller that probably has 1 bar instead of 2 handles. Ability to move smoothly too. I love our pliko switch but if Keira does walk I can't use it one handed. It has a little step for her and we have the buggy board too. Not too bothered about size once folded as long as its easy as we have a Picasso so boot space is good.

I don't want a whole new travel system but not many strollers like that about. Decent underneath storage would be good too although we don't carry loads of shopping! Mainly use on streets so off road not needed but do frequent the beach when we can so bonus if we could push on sand.

Bothe and my mum have obaby strollers and once Keira was about 2 they have got really heavy to push and the swivel wheels might not be there as useless. Will be selling out travel system and stroller to fund!!

I know you've said that you don't need an all terrain pushchair but the people we bought our out n about nipper from said it was really good for pushing one handed. They were selling it as they had twins so upgraded to a double one and they said that even that was good to push & steer one handed whilst holding onto a toddler. They also said that their toddler would sit on the front footplate when she got tired when out. They lived at the seaside so often took the pushchair on the beach although it was more of a mud beach than soft sand when we were there!

Baby Jogger City Mini! Christopher occasionally gets in the single (I have both single and double) and it is light and easy to push one handed. Has a reasonable basket and is very easy to fold. It also has a great sunhood!

We have the Elea, which is very easy to steer one-handed, but it might be a bit large for you at this point. We've tested the double BJCM, and they are a dream to steer!

Sounds like that's the one to get! Not a fan of 3 wheelers but might bite the bullet and go for it. Think I shall go and have a look at some.

I have never been a fan of 3 wheelers but the BJCM is fantastic!

We have bjcm twin and I could push that with two toddlers in one handed. Miss my pram!

BJCM GT! I got mine a couple of weeks ago and love it. The only downside is that S cannot really use the buggy board anymore as her head hits the handlebar. But we get her to take her scooter and she is happy doing that :)
