Giving Up

Postby sbfoyston » Wed May 03, 2017 4:16 pm

Hi all.

Me and my husband are newly married and have been trying for a baby for over 2 years now. I have known since i was 14 that i have PCOS and made my husband aware not long after the relationship got serious.
After about a year of trying i went to my doctors and was put on metformin. The first time i was on them, i had really bad side effects and had to be put on a slow release dose. These made my periods regulate. Even after my periods regulating we have had no luck. We are unable to go for IVF because of my size (i have tried loosing weight but find it hard).
Since getting married it has become really hard for me and part of me honestly thinks i will never be able to give my husband a family. This is putting a lot of strain on us as i constantly push him away and course arguments. A lot of the time i do just think of giving up and letting him find someone else who can give him what he deserves. I feel like a failure as a woman and as a wife.
Can anyone please give me some advice on how to deal with these feelings as it is become unbearable?

Hi there,

I can completely relate!
Its taken nearly 2 and a half years, 6 rounds of clomid but I'm now 13 weeks pregnant.
Have you been referred to a fertility specialist?
we were offered ovarian drilling which can help stimulate ovulation, have you looked into this?
Also ask about clomid, it doesn't always happen straight away but it's another avenue to explore.

In regards to dealing with the emotional side of things, I didn't really handle it too well.
Ask your doctor for some help I.e counselling.
It's a hard enough journey...don't put pressure on yourself!
If it helps maybe have a break, believe it or not the month we fell pregnant, we had given up and we were looking at immigrating to aus and living our lives out there.

Please feel free to message me xx
