Newly diagnosed with PCOS & TTC

Postby Vicki140208 » Thu Aug 06, 2015 10:51 am

Hi I'm new to the forum. I'm 30 and my daughter is 7. I conceived her naturally within the first month of trying. I have always had irregular periods (shortest 35 - 140 days). I came off the pill for about 9 months in 2014, went back on it in November 2014 then came off it in March. I've had 2 cycles so far (26th March & 13th May). I'm currently on day 86 and waiting for AF to arrive. I've had various blood tests and things for over 12 months and they were all normal so the GP ruled PCOS out but I pushed him for a scan which I ended up having in June and it confirmed it. I've been prescribed clomid which I can start taking when AF arrives but god knows when that'll be. I don't feel stressed really, but just confused at what my body is doing really. I've booked in to see the doctor next week again because I'm due to go away on 24th August and want to see if there's any way of starting or delaying my period. My BMI is 22 and I don't have any other health issues. I suppose I'm just posting this because it would be nice to hear other people's experiences as not many people understand PCOS, I just get told to not worry/think about it which is difficult.

Thanks, I wondered if I was ok to ask for something like this? My GP is nice but to be fair it's me been having to push for things to happen and I'm not sure how much he really knows about PCOS x

most dont unfortunately. If you look at the NICE guidelines it tells you what to expect regarding PCOS.

Hi, I went quiet last month as I wanted to see how I got on with the clomid. I'm shocked but very happy to say it worked for me on 50mg CD 2-5 and I found out I'm pregnant this morning. X
