Options after clomid

Postby Millie Moon » Mon Mar 09, 2015 1:23 pm

I'm just wondering if anyone may be able to suggest what possible options i could be offered if I don't get to use clomid or if it doesn't work? I am TTC number two. I had to have blood tests and scans and when these where completed I had to ring the consultant to get the go ahead for the clomid. I had to leave a message on Friday as it went to answer phone but today the secretary rang and said the consultant is sending me a letter following the tests and I will have to wait for that. Now I'm really worried as I was hoping she could just say I could go ahead and start

Having a child already usually limits what you're offered on the NHS to pretty much Clomid in most areas I believe - I assume that's what you mean? x
Me 37 - Hubby 34 - married and began ttc August 2011
7/6/12 diagnosed with PCOS
Various unresponsive Clomid cycles, ovarian drilling, a couple of natural ovulations, a suspected pregnancy and back to Clomid which still doesn't work!
2013 - the year of IVF - resulting in a heterotopic pregnancy and the loss of our beautiful babies at 10 weeks (and my tube)

Although I didn't try it at the time, I had acupuncture after my last pregnancy, and since then have had very regular periods...if medical treatment isn't an option, maybe worth considering?

Hello,

Little bit late on replying but hope this is helpful - I was on Clomid and it had no effect. I was eventually put on tamoxifen and had my ovaries drilled. (5 months later - and after 3 years of trying - I conceived twins :)) The day I had the operation there was a lady on the ward having it done to try and conceive her second child - I don't know how things vary between NHS Trusts, however, or whether this would be an option for you.

If you'd like any further information about this just let me know.
