Mrs A- sorry about AF and having to sit in such awful conditions for a scan. I know we can't be fussy given the strain on hosps ATM but it does seem so insensitive having to wait with pregnant women, especially when you're already always on edge with the scan. I'm not best placed to advise on the clomid,can very much see both sides (not helpful at all) but do take Claire's point about the monitoring on IVF and it being so soon. have you managed to speak to docs? What did they advise?

Kitty- good news about appt and hubby! Sounds like 2015 is your year maybe him being less stressed and happier will surely influence things? If not you still will hopeully have IVF to look forward to! So exciting! Where does him

AFM - have had uncomfortable cramps all evening... Mainly on my right side. I'm cd9 (ff won't let me change it for some reason so is one day behind on there) ... Not much cm... Opk stronger than yest but still not positive. The cramping is quite painful.... Is it possible my bods gearing for ov this early? He only other thing I can think is that I'm growing a big cyst and that's why it's hurting feel like it's my fault because I def drank too much over Xmas for someone who's ttc. Any thoughts? Xx

Hi all,

Mrs A - you're doing the right thing contacting your specialists, they will know the best things to do and if they think it's OK for you to take the Clomid, they're much more likely to observe you more closely.

Gina - we're on the same CD! I had strange cramps on the left hand side, I don't know what's that's meant to mean but hope it's positive. Going to start taking the opks tonight to see where I'm at. My hubby is working for the Council. He's worked at various public sector departments for the past 9 years and it's always the same, he overperforms but does he get recognised - no! And so many others taking the mick on the same wage and no action has been taken. He's just not suited to that environment I don't think and now he's made the decision, he's a changed man, asking me where we are in the cycle, when we need to BD and being so lovely and smiley! Just the pick me up I've needed.

CPrince - I hope all is going well for you, have you had any more symptoms or temp rise? Are you on 50mg? If so don't be too concerned if you don't ovulate this cycle, many need 100mg to get things going. I'm on 100mg and am guaranteed to ovulate when I take it.

Summer - are you feeling any better? I hope you are and that hubby is feeling a bit more positive.

Claire - glad you're enjoying a temp free cycle, hope all is well with you.

AFM - days ticking by to our appointment, going to have the conversation with hubby at the weekend when there's less pressure on, tbh I'm fairly relaxed with it with him seeming so much happier, it may be just a case of waiting just a little bit longer.

Aw kitty so happy for you! Sounds like hubby is making a real turnaround. Always the way in companies.... People get preferential treatment just because they shout the loudest and then the ones just plodding along doing what they're supposed to get nothing! I always try to make myself feel better by thinking that outside work they must be really annoying people who wind everyone up so in terms of life we are winning! Football coaching sounds so much more rewarding as well. Completely agree- even if you don't end up goig for IVF just yet then maybe all the stress relief from you both may kick start something special!

Yaaaay for cycle twins ha! Im so confused now... I had a strongish opk yest.... It def wasn't positive but it was geting there... Then today it was the weakest line in the world! And the cramps yesterday! I'm really scared I've just got a big fat cyst instead. Know we'll just have to wait and see but it's so annoying! Xx

Had a bit of a temp dip yesterday but it's gone back up again today...I'm so confused they started me on 100mg of clomid...maybe it just won't work this month xxxx

CPrice - what CD are you? I think it's probably a bit early for implantation dip, but it's possible. Are you having a blood test, if so, I'd say keep BDing until then to cover all bases.

Gina - thanks for your lovely comments. Re. the opks I think that they are a good indicator, but must be used with other signals, how are your temperatures doing? And yes, it's a wait and see game. Are you having a blood test? I'm not sure if I will or not this month, but will find out on Monday.

AFM - going to start the BDing tonight since I think last month we started too early and got fed up around ovulation. opk last night was hardly a line there at all, so think ovulation a little way off for me just yet.

I'm CD18 of a usual 33/34 day cycle ...I don't think I've even ovulated yet so I doubt it's a temp dip....consultant has given me 3 months of clomid and said I need to have 21 day bloods but I might save it til after next month clomid cycle as hopefully it will have worked by then xxx

Sgclaire... I'm assuming it was the scar tissue since my tube was fused to my ovary but I'm not sure. I didn't really ask too much but maybe she compared it to my good left ovary? I hope your snow baby is nice and snuggled in there

Gina... It could be your body gearing up to ov, I seem to get twinges prior to ov. CD10 wouldn't necessarily be too early. Do you have any ewcm?

Kitty... Not long til your appointment (3 days)?! I hope you manage to have the all important ivf conversation with hubby... Would some wine help?! Good luck the the bd marathon!!

Cprice... It's hard to say without seeing your chart. Some of us get a temperature dip before our temps rise and stay elevated post ov. Have you had any ewcm? Out of interest... why did you consultant start you on 100mg instead of 50mg? I've not heard of that before! Don't panic.. CD18 means you still have time to ovulate. The problem with saving your cd21 blood test is that they want to see if you have or have not ovulated by checking your progesterone level. If you have not ovulated then they would probably increase your dosage. If you have ovulated they would probably keep you on the same dose so please be careful. Can you link your temps to fertility friend at all so we can have a look and see what's going on?

I got a call back from our consultants secretary saying our consultant said there wouldn't be any point taking the clomid as he has a date for our first ivf appointment... 6th February. I had a bit of a freak out when I got off the phone to her. I'm scared & anxious... Not of the procedure as I feel I can handle anything now but more of if it will work. I feel like I kind of just about had time to get my head around it and now it's here. I don't feel excited as I'm reserved in case it doesn't work if that makes sense? I guess it's my self defence mechanism. I know I need to be positive and will try to be.

I haven't had much ewcm but I don't get a lot anyway I think that's to do with the PCOS though..I usually have to use conceive plus or something like that when DTD...

I have no idea why I was started on 100mg? I didn't realise most people start on the lower dose...

I can't link the ovusense with fertility friend so I'm not sure of the temps it just tracks the temp and then plots them on the graph every day for me..then it should tell me when I'm in my ovulation period but I haven't had that yet....can clomid make ur temps higher than usual?xxx

Cprice... The only time I didn't have much ewcm was when I was on clomid... It seemed to dry things up a bit down there for me but clomid aside I get ewcm. Oh right... How odd about starting on the higher dose... Maybe other ladies may know? What trust are you under? That's a shame about your chart, I'm assuming it's vaginal temps from the ovusense... I take mine orally. I never noticed clomid making my temps higher personally but sometimes on the days when taking the clomid I experienced hot flushes. Sorry I'm not much help... I can only talk on personal experience but I think a lot of us differ from symptom to symptom so it could be possible.

Thanks Mrs A...I'm under a consultant at Birmingham Women's Hospital.... Yes it's vaginal temps every 5 mins through the night with ovusense then you place it on the reader in the morning and it downloads your info and plots it on a graph I think I will use continue as I am...I'm so confused about it all and desperate to conceive (i don't have any children and have never been pregnant despite trying since 2011)

MrsB thanks for the post, of course I remember u from the earlier boards, we had a few very positive cycles together. Wow your little one is 1 in June already, are you planning num 2?
Just reading back through some of your posts. If you have monthly cycles it doesn't mean u don't have PCOS, I think Joy had monthly cycles every month but just didn't O & she still had pcos. I also read about the CB ovulation not working on pcos girls, but I was using the CB digital ovulation sticks, n every month they had a solid smiley. I stopped doing my temps a few mths ago n was just going by my cm n the digi ov tests n got my bfp, but we're all different.
MrsA n hkitty wow possibly both going on to ivf I hope u both get your bfp soon.
Claire how u doing, u still ttc, I was so sorry to read your ivf didn't work, are you going to try again.

Evening ladies,

Sorry that I have not been around, that virus really knocked me for six & still hasn't entirely gone!

Claire31 - how are you? How are you finding taking a break? And is the running helping you deal with emotional stuff? I got my results back from the HCG test & the levels were fine so that was something! Also did another CB digi this Tuesday and it had gone up to 3+ from only 1-2 the previous Monday so that was a little bit of reassurance while I was spotting. Talking of which, the spotting has now stopped & I've just had more CM instead, hopefully that's a good sign!

MrsA - so exciting that all the IVF stuff has kicked off already! Must be overwhelming though as, like you said, you've barely had time to get your head around it. Hope your appointment goes well in Feb & will be keeping my fingers crossed so hard for you! I do want to keep doing the SW diet & the used to have a section for pregnant/nursing women on the website but that has now disappeared. I seem to remember that you had to add stuff into the diet but I can't remember exactly so I'm going to discuss it with my consultant or the midwife & see what they say, just sticking to healthy eating in the meantime. Really admire you getting back to running and doing the couch to 5k, I can't run as I have a knee injury but I'll cheer you on from the sidelines!

Kitty - good luck for your appointment tomorrow! Did you manage to talk to hubby about IVF this weekend? Sounds like he's going through some really positive changes at the moment so I'm really hopeful that that will get your BFP one way or another

I've hit rock bottom...

Hard to explain, I've not even cried. I think I've cried so many TTC tears, there's none left.

As you know it's our appointment this afternoon and I finally plucked up the courage to broach the question last night with hubby. He basically said "you know how I feel about IVF, I don't like it" and I thought he'd got over that whole don't have on the NHS thing and he also feels that the depression is still holding him back. I had already suggested to wait for April when he's left his job, but now he's on about getting a new job, perhaps a part time one. He went on about continuing Clomid, but I had to remind him that I only had 1 cycle left, he was like "but you've been ill" well that didn't stop me taking them before I was ill...

So essentially, we'll not be doing IVF any time soon, if at all. I've got to the point where is just all seems so pointless, if our relationship wasn't so strong I think I'd have walked out and used a sperm donor by now. All I want in the whole wide world is to have a child, HIS child and I don't get any commitment to doing this. I'm 34 this year and with my MS I feel the clock is ticking even faster.

He was so lovely once I'd gone quiet as he asked to see my chart and plenty of hugs but I couldn't reciprocate. I'm devastated and really thought he'd turned a curve. As he reminded me yesterday, we've been going out for 5,211 days. It seems such a waste to let all that go, maybe I should give in and go with his idea to adopt, but why should I bring someone else's unwanted child/leftovers???? Sounds harsh I know but I'm just so angry right now. No holidays, no child, very little husband...

OK rant over, hope everyone is OK.
