Hi All

Haven't posted in a while, but just jumping on to say good luck with testing when the time comes Humphrey! Everything you've said sounds really positive! My cycles shortened to an average of 32 days whilst on Clomid! I know how disappointing it can be getting a BFN though, so do whatever you feel is best. I applaud your will power. I have none where peeing on sticks is concerned! Haha!

Since having my little boy my cycles are back to being all over the place so trying to get on top of it with healthy diet/excercise to get me Oving again! I know it can happen!

Hope everyone else is ok. So quiet on here these days x

Have the doctors mentioned metformin?

Humphrey sorry this wasn't your cycle and I know from years of bitter experience how horrible that feels and how nothing really consoles the agony but please don't give up, keep moving forwards *hug* xx

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the support- feeling much stronger today! I have 2 more rounds so what've I got to lose! Lol! Thing with metfomin- I was told it would make no difference as my blood sugars are normal? I get them checked regularly. Would they give me metformin despite that?
Cd8 now trying to keep positive.
Thankyou so much ladies xxxx

Morning Hun,
I was given Metformin and my blood sugar is fine too....it helped me (took a few months to get used to mind you).
I also found on clomid, no matter what I ate I managed to put weight on, so it sort of helped with that.
It's always worth a try :)
Have they suggested any "next steps" after clomid?
Have you had the HSG scan?
Fingers crossed for you Hun, really feel for you and know what your going through.
Xx

So cycle 5 didn't work :( period came today! One more cycle and then we have to move on. I asked about metformin and specialist said that latest studies show that it does not improve outcome but she'd happily prescribe me some if I wanted...I said yes please and she's now gone on leave until next Wednesday and my period started today so I think it will be too late as I have to take the clomid tomorrow!
:( maybe they will give me one more cycle...who knows! Right now I'm on the verge of giving up and just thinking I won't be having children :(
Anyway sorry for the rant ! I hope you're ok? Xxx

Hi Humphrey, sorry to hear you had another failed cycle hun :( how do you feel about IVF? Will you get an NHS funded cycle? Have you heard of letrozole / femara as an alternative to Clomid? xx

Hi Claire,

Sorry for delayed reply! Just been getting my head together! Feeling a bit stronger today! How are you? Thanks for your message!
I think after this final round of clomid we would have to have a review with our consultant anyway- I think I would qualify for NHS ivf as I'm only 29 but I know it's all a postcode lottery!! :( I would have it if I'm allowed but want to try the least invasive first unless consultant says otherwise?
Just reading about letrazole now- perhaps that's the next step? Xx

Hi Humphrey:)

Letrozole is not always available on the NHS, I was being seen privately TTC baby 2 when I asked my consultant for it. I found it much nicer to use than Clomid and more successful in making me ovulate. If you are offered IVF I would go ahead with that as that could be the quicker route if successful and you will learn more about your fertility and may end up with frozen embryos for subsequent babies! Lots of positives :) If you feel you don’t want to go that route then you could ask for Letrozole or they may offer IUI with injections or ovarian drilling ?? I know it’s hard but keep going and best of luck with this cycle xx

Hello all!

So sorry haven't been back sooner, I had a tough time when my little man - Dylan Oliver was born as Claire mentioned previously and tbh didn't want reminding that I probably won't ever have a second. Dylan was 1 yesterday and he's healthy despite his episode at 1 week old. He's not walking yet, but he's keeping us on our feet crawling all over.

Such lovely news about so many of you conceiving and that photo Summer is gorgeous! Congratulations all round!

I would echo what others have said that most the ladies got their miracles eventually - just takes a lot of perseverance and some blood, sweat and hopefully not too many tears!

My cycles pretty much returned to a 'normal' cycle but this month, I'm 'late' - I had spotting all last week which means AF on her way, but it's all stopped now - I don't think BFP, just the PCOS monster raising it's ugly head!

Merry Christmas ladies and all the best for 2018 and your ttc journeys.

Some will remember me, sorry I haven't posted since about May. My Dad was terminally ill and died in June so I wasn't checking the board at all.

So our second bundle of joy, Alice, arrived early like her sister. Just went into labour at 37 weeks do a week later than Molly and she was a respectable 6lb 10oz. Ended up in hospital for a bloody week as my blood pressure was through the roof in labour and they couldn't get it down after. Never an issue in pregnancy!

So I will be checking the boards but we are done on our ttc journey....couldn't face another week in hospital away from TWO children this time!!!

You will get there ladies, there are bad days and horrendous days. But we had no help with Alice and got pregnant within 3 months so miracles happen. Love to you all xxxxx

Hi ladies,

Just a quickie from me. Emily turned two last week and we also found out I am pregnant! we had planned to start clomid this July (when we saw our consultant last year and got given the go ahead). So here we are, I think I’m 5/6 weeks and am waiting to call my consultant/gp to arrange an epu referral given my history and advice from my consultant about telling him as soon as I get a positive test so he can arrange bloods/scans. So we’ve not been trying so this feels like some weird kind of miracle after everything we went through to have Emily! I’ll keep you posted! Love to all. xx
