Hi ladies,
Wonder if I could get some advice- as my situation has been quite tumultuous this is the first month where everything is seemingly going to plan!!! Because of this I am totally unprepared and haven't a clue when I should be tracking ovulation etc.
So... I'm currently on cd7 - finished 100mg clomid yesterday... when would I start checking for ovulation? Is it best to take the test in the morning or something? Also what is this 2 week wait everyone is talking about and when should I be doing a pg test? Sorry for all the questions just so used to everything being a nightmare! Lol xxx

Hi Humphrey,

Are you using ovulation testing kits? I have been told they aren't particularly that reliable.
But generally speaking in a normal cycle ovulation is generally cd14 (28d cycle), mine was cd20-22 when on clomid.
My best advice is bd and every other day (then if your up to it everyday around mid cycle).
The two week wait is the wait between ovulation and when your period will start.
I wouldn't stress out about testing on specific days too much, if you get to CD 30 and still no period, do a test.
This was advice given by our specialist, who mentioned constant testing will just make it all the more stressful.

Everyone's different but I found the month I gave up (was told clomid wasn't working and we would need surgery) was the month we conceived. We had decided to forget about it all, not have the surgery and live life without children for a few years and then maybe re-visit.

I was on this board a while ago now while we ttc our first baby. We were really lucky to have our clomid baby, a little boy, last June. He is now 13 months old and developing a proper little character!! He keeps me well on my toes.

We are now thinking about ttc another baby maybe at Christmas. Whilst I'm not really ready yet, I'm very aware that I'm in my thirties with pcos!! I have just started tracking my cycle again so I have an idea of what is (or not!!) happening.

I've not caught up too well so will do better in future - I didn't know the board was still going x

Thanks for the advice! As I am a stress head I have decided not to test and just bd every other day as you said and see what happens! Cd12 at the moment- feeling much more positive at the moment- get the odd negative twinge that this isn't going to work but then keep telling myself that actually I need to give my body a chance! Also having acupuncture every week has helped tremendously!

Humphrey sorry your cycle was a bfn but it seems (having had a quick read) you ovulated from the clomid and got your period on time so successful in that respect. Are you taking 100mg again this cycle? Look out for egg white like cm around days 12-16 and keep BD - best of luck xx

Thanks for your message and I do feel more positive as my periods are so irregular naturally that the fact I had a normal cycle makes me positive that I must've ovulated. Yes on 100mg again currently on cd21 and my predictor app says my period is due cd31 so fingers crossed! Trying not to use opk and just listen to my body- also bd every other day so hopefully I can get my bfp this month...we shall see.

Hi Humphrey, glad to see your cycles are starting to become more regular..... fingers crossed for this cycle
I think my cycles were around 31-32 days on clomid so a little longer than the average...but better than 90 days hehehe.

What your doing is the best you can do hun and your giving yourself the best chance by BDing often and not placing too much stock into charts and opk's.

So day 34...still no af! Trying to feel hopeful but scared to test in case it's bfn. Every time I used 100mg I had af cd 31/32! Today cd34 and nothing!! Keeping everything crossed and trying to not think about it! Do feel a bit nauseous and tired but just as it's been such a long horrible road don't want to presume anything! But anyway I have fingers and toes crossed! Thinking of testing around day 44 as when I wasn't on clomid that's when my period would generally come!

Hi Humphrey did you have any signs of ovulation? Or have an idea when it might have happened? Are you taking folic acid?

I just had to stop taking the pill due to high blood pressure and had a text book perfect ovulatory cycle with AF arriving bang on time - all those years struggling to ovulate and now our family is complete it happens easily & naturally - typical !

Because I had such a tough time of it last few months- I wasn't doing opk or temping but I did notice fertile cm mid month! I've been taking folic acid every day! I keep getting little achy twinges and feel nauseous but I'm just scared it's all in my head! The last two 100mg cycles af arrived day 31/32 so I suppose I need to take this as a positive! When 50mg didn't work I had no cramping or anything at all! I'm so scared to test and find its negative and then get myself all worked up so I'm waiting as long as possible!!

Oh Hun that's so typical! We have it so tough having to turn our cycles on and off like a tap!! seems unfair really!! Xx
