Fertility coaching

Postby Plum_pie » Fri Dec 13, 2013 3:38 pm

Hi all!

Some of you may know me from over on the Clomid buddies board, where I've been posting for about a year now. You may or may not also know that as part of my fertility journey I wanted to focus on something really positive for myself, to change my work patterns and to learn how to give something back to other ladies experiencing fertility problems. Well, I've just qualified as an ICF-accredited personal development coach. One of the coaching areas I want to specialise in is fertility coaching.

I'm looking to build up my hours of coaching experiencing by coaching a small number of people for free, and I wanted to offer one of these places to a Verity TTC board member. Though I've not been through IVF (as yet), I've had my own share of TTC sadness and challenge and I understand how difficult this journey can be. Hopefully I can help someone to feel a little bit lighter, a little bit more hopeful through this free coaching place, which will be made up of 6 50-minute sessions. If anyone's interested in finding out more about this, please PM me. The place is first-come-first-served.

If you're not sure what fertility coaching is - here's a little summary...

In fertility coaching I encourage you to vent your feelings to someone who really cares. We'll look at fertility as one aspect of a full and rounded life, so it may help you to feel more balanced and less like TTC is taking over. We'll look at ways to feel more hopeful, ways to take back control and feel stronger, and ways to be proactive about getting your needs met, whether that's from your OH, your consultant or clinic, or from your family and friends. It's all about you and is guided by what you need. I do not pretend to be an instructor, advisor or to have all the answers, but I do know something of what you are going through and we will look together at the resources you already have within yourself that can help move you forward and we can develop these and make them stronger. It's a safe place to focus on you for 50 minutes. I am not a trained counsellor, so it is very important to be clear that this is not fertility counselling. Coaching is more proactive, more future focused and looks at giving you the space to be heard and the means to realise how you can move forward with life while holding tenderly your precious wishes for a family. It's empowering, positive, and uplifting.

Just drop me a private message if you would like to know more about the free place.

Thanks all,

Plum
