Thank you. Well I haven't had a period but am also not pregnant. I'm hoping that I had miscalculated ovulation as if not I'm just not sure what's going on. When I do ovulate i get ewcm and sore nipples but this month has been a bit confusing. I've booked a gp appointment next week to talk about what's been going on. I got so hopeful when my period didn't arrive . I'd forgotten what this process feels like. How is everyone else getting on? Xxx

Also, the consultant advised metformin last time I saw her but I haven't done anything about it. What exactly does it do? Xxx

Millie moon - metformin - As I understand it, if you are insulin resistant (many pcos sufferers are) it should help address that and in turn rebalance progesterone and testosterone levels which are partly messed up by insulin resistance. If hormones are back in balance, a lot of pcos symptoms will be under control...

I have been on metformin for 7weeks and have just started a period (grin). My last one was in Oct last yr. Don't know if this is just down to metformin. My cycle (what cycle!) is totally bonkers. I've been temping to try and work out if I'm ovulating, and there is no obvious pattern... yet. The first 2 weeks on metformin I had pains lower left abdomen but these now come and go (no pain since starting period). Literature I've read suggests not to be on it long term but in my case I'm simply hoping it'll help ttc #2...

Thank you bluejemima. I have decided to start the metformin so will let you know how I get on. It's very positive that you have had a period 7 weeks after starting the metformin. Things might start to regulate for you now xxx
I saw the gp today as I still haven't started my period and have tested negative. She was a bit rude and said ' it don't see what you expect me to do about it of you are under a consultant'. So I felt quite down afterwards but I got a metformin prescription while I was there. I just don't get what is going on. Although I've always been very irregular, once I get the sore nipples (which I hope is ovulation) I always get a period a fortnight later. Definitely not pregnant as had to have a scan on Friday that the consultant had arranged last time I'd attended appointment just to look at ovaries and what not and the lady scanning me simply said afterwards 'you have pcos and your not pregnant''... Yeah thanks for that!!

Re, Metformin - I think this is what worked for me with no.2. It helped me lost weight, feel better generally and regulated my cycles a bit.

I'm now 22 weeks and its another boy!

In other exciting news we are moving back to the UK frmo the US in March and I can't blooming wait. I'm just a bit nervous about transferring back onto NHS care so late in my pregnancy (will be about 28 weeks) but I am definetly looking forward to some gas and air at the birth. It;'s epidural or nothing out here....

gillymonkey how exciting!!! Boys are so cute! I didn't release you lived in the US. Whereabouts are you? I didn't know that about the gas and air!!
I've started the metformin now so looking forward to seeing if it makes some changes for me. I've never been told I have high insulin and am a normal bmi so was a bit confused at the time what it would do. I've heard really positive things about it so am looking forward to hopefully seeing some changes xx

HI everyone - just wondering if it's OK to join you? My lovely boy is 13 months and hubby and I feel the time is right to start thinking about #2. Our son was conceived using IVF (FET cycle). I miscarried whilst suffering really badly with ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome in my first pregnancy. For my second pregnancy (where my son was born) I reduced stress by dropping to 3 days at work and losing 3 stone. Before trying again I want to get my weight down by about a stone and a half but wanted to join in as we are trying naturally (although not hopeful) and I think joining in would motivate me to keep on track with the weight loss (struggling to get started).

WR83 we have been clomid and IVF buddies I think - so great to see you back trying too! All we have been through has been so worth it!! Hope you get the FET soon as I recall you were having problems with your cycle just now? (I've been lurking but forgotten all the details). Good luck to everyone

Aw 5 months is such a lovely age- it does go so fast - my boy is 13 months already and it just feels like yesterday he was born! I desperately try to keep him as a baby but he's already a very independent toddler- makes me very broody ! X

I think as much as I would love another child we won't be having anymore. We have been TTC for 13 years and now have two beautiful, long fought for children and I don't think I could go through trying again. So what will be, will be. xxx

Hello,

Just wondered if I can join you all again, was on the board clomid buddies way back in 2012 when trying for number one. Well just started trying for number two and need some advice.

I had taken Provera in January and first cylce of 50mg clomid but got a BFN.

Today AF arrives by itself not having started my next lot of provera, this has never happened before do you thing the first dose of Provera has kick started my body into its natural cycle and should I take the clomid days 3-7 as I would have done after the next lot of Provera.

Confused.

End of 2010, start 2011- Ovulation testing 12 weeks, no sign of ovulation
Friday 28th Sept/Thursday 4th Oct 2012 - Provera 20mg
October 2012 - 1st cycle Clomid 50mg due to commence
October 2012 - 8th, 9th, 10th,11th, 12th - 50mg Clomid
November 2012 - 4th - CD29/30, BFN. 6th - CD 31, BFN
November 2012 - 8th - CD 33, BFP x3

2015 - start ttc number 2
January 22nd 2015 - Provera 20mg for 7 days
January 30th 2015- AF arrives
February 1st-5th 2015 - Clomid 50mg from CD 3-7
March 3rd - CD 33 BFN
March 4th - AF arrives naturally
