Sharp pains in lower stomach

I may have posted about this before, about me wondering whether this is an IBS problem or not...

Occasionally I get sharp pains in my lower stomach/ovary area. I do have PCOS syndrome and have had cysts that come and go before. Just wondered whether this could be a cyst pain. I haven't had a scan in a couple of years...

Sometimes it is really really painful and causes my stomach to bloat out. Also I feel it when I breathe in. Sometimes I can go for a couple of months/weeks without having the pain. Its not food related, as I eat bread/pasta and have no problems.

Anyone have any similar problems? Or know what this could be? Thanks for any replies! :)

I have this. I too get IBS but don't think it's related. I think it's cysts. I have a repeat scan Monday and gp had me have full sexual health screening to rule out anything else. I have irregular bleeding and pain during and after sex so needed checking. I'm also now due for a smear so will get that done this month. gp also said Mirena coil may be aggravating it so may have that out. Not sure if I've helped but that's my situation at the moment.

I haven't been diagnosed with IBS but I've talked to doctor about it. They said it might be food related but it's not. Maybe I should book another scan. Sometimes the 'tight stomach' isn't that painful but when it is, it really hurts like sharp pains. I've had a biopsy for bleeding after like you said, but it came back fine. I get pain too :( not fun! I'll have to see what doctors say. But they are not usually much help hah.
Thanks for the reply :)
