Late Onset CAH.......anyone?

Postby Carrie77 » Mon Sep 26, 2011 10:25 pm

Hello Ladies!

Well it looks fairly likely that I may not in fact have PCOS but late onset CAH.

The net is a little sketchy on this subject, combined with a lot of conflicting information!

It would be great to hear experiences of anyone that has this condition, any information would be really greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Carrie x

I don's have CAH but I was tested for it. I was also tested or Cushing's and Conn's syndrome but I don't have those either!

If you have been referred to an endocrinologist and they didn't check for this before moving onto IVF then that is quite poor. They can all be tested by a simple blood and urine sample so hardly involved!

The only positive thing is it seems easily managed by a certain steroid (begins with g!). And this should lessen PCOS-type symtoms like oily skin/hair and lack of periods. And that can only help with getting pregnant.

I hope you get a proper treatment plan soon,
X
No cycle for me, male factor infertility for H. Clomid resistant.

It's going to be alright in the end. If it's not alright it's not the end.

SammiV, thanks so much for your message, much appreciated.

The more I think about it all the angrier I get to be honest. Am going to wait for a firm diagnosis before I let my anger errupt lol!
