The menopause and PCOS

Postby user123 » Mon May 23, 2011 9:15 pm

Evening ladies

Don't know if any of you are of that age but do you know if there are any studies done on women with PCOS and the menopause? Do they tend to experience the same problems as everyone else going through the menopause, or to have fewer or more/worse symptoms? Obviously there are individual differences but would be interesting to see if this area has been researched at all.

What happens in polycystic ovaries during the menopause? Will they stop producing excess androgens or will they start producing more?

I know I'm a bit too young to worry about the menopause but if there are any advantages whatsoever with having this syndrome if only after 50, that would be something to look forward to
