Blood test results.

I've had some bloods today to check my hormone levels which I haven't had done since my diagnosis in 2001!!!
I can remember my gynae consultant telling me that women with PCOS may have 'normal' results BUT actually they aren't normal.
Does anyone know anything about this???
Does anyone know where I can find the 'normal' ranges of hormonal levels??
I had my progesterone, oestrogen, testosterone levels checked.
Also had my blood glucose and thyroid levels checked.

hi dramaqueen27

I'm not too sure about the "normal" ranges of all hormone levels but I know that the LH:FSH ratio should "normally" be 1:1 but in women with pcos it can be 2:1 or 3:1. Mine was 2:1. Did you get tested for these too?

From a quick check online there is this web page which seems to give a brief synopsis of hormone levels in women with PCOS -
http://www.labtestsonline.org.uk/unders ... cos-3.html

Hope this helps xxx

Hi there.

I can't anaswer much on what "normal" hormone levels are but i have been reading up on the site and apparently you can have polycystic ovaries either a) with the cysts and without the hormonal imbalance or b) with hormonal imbalance and with our without cysts?!

Did you get the results back from your blood tests?
