Yeah actually iv got an underactive thyroid. I have to take thyroxine to help. maybe thats why i always feel so tired and weak and ill. i thought i might be coming down with flu as i have been really achey and restless.

well 2morrow @3pm i am gonna see a doc in my gp surgery whose specialitiy is endocrine disorders what questions do i ask them. i know within myself there's a problem achey bones always tired n always cold + my brother is a doc n he even said y havet gone back for them to test my thyroid again i say because the docs say its not low enough thats y wen do test it it aint moving or doing anything at all. this doc that iam seening is always condensending she sits there and does like u having done medcine thats y i am the doc n ur the patient. i dont know how many times its gonna come back low for them to do something even though i am having cold feet n hands basically i am always cold. i think i would have to be seriously ill before any1 listens to me about how i feel u know i am just grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I tested TSH 1.5 and my endocronologist suggested trialling 25 micrograms. So ASK what your test results are, and do some reading up, so you can argue the toss if you're still borderline.

Is it safe to take thyroid support supplement when my thyroid is healthy?
I have a family history of thyroid disorders. My mom had thyroid cancer and my father had hyperthyroid. I had a goiter 3 years ago. It was drained and turned to be benign. My recent blood work indicated that my thyroid is functioning normally. However, I have been feeling a bit sluggish and have put on over 10 pounds in the last 5 months without changing my eating habits at all. Any advice is appreciated!

I wasn't diagnosed with under active thyroid for 10 years because my bloodtest was ' borderline' but as i've got fibromyalgia - which unbeknownst to me , is linked with it, the doc should of picked it up! But as soon as i started taking it my life changed, i gave up using a wheelchair, 2 years later could walk without a stick and now 7 years later, i have just cycled across europe!! so anybody with symptoms should badger their drs - it is so common - my mum was diagnosed at same time! But then i didn't have PCOS diagnosed for years cos doc thought it was the fibromyalgia too!!
