Hi everyone,

Just wondering... what do you have as part of a lowGI breakfast?

ive been sticking to brown bread toast, but that's getting a bit boring.....
i know wholegrain cereals are good, but what brand do i go for?

I have porridge with soya milk, nuts and seeds x
Daft southerner up north; age: 38; diagnosed with PCOS at 19, but unaware of the full significance until the last few years - most notably when my hair began thinning at 27! Now trying to help symptoms by using an anti-candida diet.

I have various breakfasts.

Sometimes my maximum of 2 slices of granary bread with marmite or special K with red berries or scrambled egg or a fresh fruit smoothie with yoghurt

Try to alternate breakfasts/lunches/dinners then it wont become too boring which sometimes means falling off the wagon and going back to high GI

Sainsburys do an oat muesli which is nice - I make my own yoghurt and mix it with that.

I either have burgen bread toast (really low gi - only 10g carbs per slice!)

or wheatabix

I dont do well with other cereals/musili etc - sends my blood sugars rocketing!
Type 1 diabetes. DH SA OK. Natural ovulation. Tubes clear. 1000mg Metformin.
IVF Funding approved! Clomid in the mean time!

Granola, I have found one which is slow energy release, it consists of many nuts and seeds! I have it with chopped fresh fruit. It is the only thing has kept me going. Be careful though as some granolas can be little more the oats smothered in sugar with the odd nut thrown in, which I found out to my determent, three hours later I felt so low, got a massive headache and just couldn't cope with work, home time didn't come soon enough!

Hi, Just come home from a gym induction. I decided I need to get active, to help relieve some of the symptoms.
I was explaining that I am feeling tired alot (haven't been sleeping so well) he said try eggs and bacon for a couple of days, he also he said that the granola isn't helping! Well try it and see how I get on. X
