heart palpitations, feeling fluttery

Postby fairycake » Wed Aug 31, 2011 2:20 pm

Hi please help

im very worried about these episodes i keep getting

my head goes very dizzy and spinny and i feel weak as if i could collapse and my heart feels fluttery and starts beating very fast then i kind of feel like i cant take deep breaths i get hot and clammy and then shake with cold even though im not cold. Its not panic attacks as it can happen when im in bed and have been sleeping.

Its very frightening and i worry whats going on with my heart. this months ive had it 3 times in the space of 2 weeks. what should i ask my doctor someone mentioned online that it could be to do with insulin as insulin can cause palpitations?

please can someone advise i know this is not normal for me and ive never had them before ive recently started putting on weight which again isnt like me i have PCOS and cysts, hirstuism and this month my period is a bit late.

Firstly is there a chance you could be pregnant, and if there is have you checked?
Otherwise I think you should stop trying to self-diagnose and just explain everything to your GP. I'm always anaemic and that causes palpitations, but there are lots of other reasons you could be having them.
Hope you feel better soon.

I'm new to this, but those symptoms sound a lot like you're experience low glucose levels. My older sister has PCOS like myself, however she is a type one diabetic. When her blood glucose falls below 2.5 she too experiences sweating, increase heart rate, etc.
If you have it again try Intaking some sugar as it could be this. But do visit your doctor!
