Dietician or Nutritionist Recommendation for London Please!

Postby saff » Wed Sep 23, 2009 4:19 pm

Hi All
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a dietician or nutritionist in London who they know is really good and specialises in PCOS and insulin resistance? To be a little more specific, I would like to see one who deals with low carb diets as well as with low GI, not someone who will simply recommend a low GI approach.

I tried low GI for years and it only caused me to put on weight due to insulin sensitivity I guess. So I know that low carb is the only thing that seems to work for me, and for a while it worked really well with me losing a lot of weight, but for pretty much the past year I have reached a standstill, despite exercising 5-6 days a week (varied exercise including weights/running/other cardio), and eating a low carb, low fat diet of about 1300 calories a day.

I really want to get the remaining weight off and don't want to go down the drugs route if at all possible so I thought seeing someone about diet and getting extra input might help. So any recommendations greatly appreciated! I would prefer someone I could see via the NHS, but if private I am still potentially interested.

Thanks!

Might be worth posting this in the more general Verity boards too, maybe in the Cafe as more people will see it there and hopefully be able to recommend someone for you.
