I've been booked in for a GTT on friday by the useless pompous gynae, but although I've contacted the phlebotomy department at my local hospital I'm still confused about whether I should still take my morning met tablet before I take the test. They've basically said they don't know and to contact the dr who ordered the test or talk to my GP. I don't think either of them will be able to help though.
I'm guessing that where i'm on met the results of the GTT won't be entirely a fair indication of my blood sugar/insulin levels at a baseline level because they're being controlled by the drug. I haven't been told to stop taking the met beforehand so do I just assume I should take it and make sure they put it on the blood test sheets?
