Think its more to do with the IR bit that quite often accompanies PCOS and that it the most efficient and quickest way of the body storing excess fat.

Don't know the science behind it, but I was told by my consultant that abdominal weight gain is linked to having higher levels of testosterone.

i think that is true with the testorone that we have a higher male hormone dam u pcos

Large waist size is linked to diabetes too. I also think it's to do with the male hormones. Women in menopause tend to lose their curves because of this too.
