I went for a blood test and i have now been diagnosed with borderline diabetes is this natural or is it part of pcos

They have told me to cut down on all sugar.

Hi Jenna, being over weight and having Insulin resistance due to pcos as you probably know does increase our risk of type 2 diabetes. As your weight reduces your Insulin Resistance should also reduce. If you can stick with a low GI diet and keep your sugar down with a bit of luck the signs of diabetes will go, but may come back later - so your GP will need to monitor the situation. If you have a very close relative with diabetes then you have something like a 50/50 chance of getting it and you may need more help to control it. Hope this makes sense. Ann
