Hi there,

Anyone on weight watchers at the minute? Looking for folks to help keep me motivated as I embark on losing my baby weight! Be great if anyone else was in the same boat.

Hi Debbie,

I'm starting it on Friday and would be keen to buddy up to help with motivation. I have successfully lost with WW in the past. I lost 3.5 stone which I kept off for 8 years but I have put 2.5 stone back on since having a failed IVF, MMC and depression. I have tried a few times to go back to it but was not in the right frame of mind however this time I feel a bit more able to try it again. Are you doing it online or via meetings? I am going to meetings as I just can't do it without that nudge of knowing someone else is going to weigh me.

Brilliant Lolly! I'm so chuffed to have found a buddy as I'm really needing a push. Well done on keeping so much if your weight off though- that's really good after 8 years as I lost about 2 stone a few years back but have put it all back on. I'm really sorry to hear about your IVF and MMC. I had a MMC in 2012 and that was what spurred me on to lose weight. It was what kept me focused through all the dark times that followed. Will you be undergoing anymore treatment while trying to lose weight? I feel ready to try for another baby but am wanting to lose about a stone and a half first. Last time I lost weight online but I'm going to meetings this time as I'm struggling myself. I have a brilliant leader and group too. That's fab that your mtg is on a fri as mine is on a thurs so our weigh ins will be close together. I'll look forward to you starting so we can share results or tips! I've not been very good so I'm going to get going now :-) xxxx

Hi Debbie,

We can do this! I want to lose 2 stone ideally before I go through IVF again as I'm way above what I weighed when I first went through it. I'm hoping to go through IVF again at the end of this year. I have decided to go back on the pill for 6 months as I find it easier controlling my weight on the pill so I'm hoping that will help. I have one frozen embryo so want to give it my best shot and losing weight may help the process. Sorry to hear you had a MMC too, very sad and hard to get over. I think we will be able to spur each other on though. I'm going to my first weigh in on Friday then I'm going to follow the pro points plan rather than the no counting one as I need flexibility otherwise I will give up. I need my odd chocolate fix now and again! Have you officially started or do you start this week too?

We totally can do this! I feel so much more motivated with someone to chat about it with! I started before Xmas and lost 8.5lbs in 5 wks but put it all back on. Have managed to lose another 4lbs. I was a BMI of 26 when I had my successful pregnancy but I'm now over 30! So I want to get to bmi of 27 ideally by July. I have two frosties and line you want to be as healthy as I can be without waiting too long. Going to officially restart on thurs. I've always down the propoints as well as I need a biscuit or something every day- I'm a tea junkie and tea comes with biscuit! I find it much easier to fit it intoy lifestyle. Are you feeling really motivated? Will you do any exercise as well? Xxxx

Me too :-) you've got off to a good start with the 4 pounds, not far off half a stone! Funny enough I was a BMI of 26 before TTC via IVF, I'm now 32 BMI but it has to be below 30 for me to go through with FET. I want to get down to about 27 too before I use up my one and only frostie. I wouldn't say Im really motivated it's more of a case of having to and I know when I get started and the pounds start to go I will then feel more encouraged. I've had a really tough year battling with depression and TTC so thought I will put it all on hold, get myself well mentally and physically then try again. I'm a latte junkie and hooked on Starbucks and Tassimo. I currently swim twice a week and try to get out for a walk a couple of times a week but I need to do more fat burning stuff like aerobics or something. I may up the swimming and do a body combat session. What about you? Xxx

Sounds like you have a really good exercise regime! I'm a lazy so and so - so I will need to get exercising- walking would usually be my choice although when I laost weight before ii uses Zumba DVDs so I might take them out . We moved house 3 weeks ago and the stress has really affected me - really down and lacking motivation with anything at the moment so it he dieting will help that too . Even after a few days of being healthy I feel much better. The weather here has been nice so no excuses! We will have to work on limiting our teas/ coffees lol I love lattes too but when being good I do enjoy a skinny one for about 2 points I think and if I have one I count it as my treat so don't allow cake. It's tough to break habits though- at certain times of day I immediately crave my tea and biscuits. Is your weigh in tomorrow night? Let me know how u go- hope your weight on the scales is lower than expected. I didn't manage mtg but think I've put on 2 lbs. how is your depression now? Do you think it was due to MMC? How are you feeling now? the end of the year is a nice time to get an frostie. Put back in and a good amount of time for the weight loss. We both have great goals to keep us going xxx

Hi Debs,
Sounds like you have had a stressful time moving house. My exercise regime could be much better, I've done none this week so far but hope to do some tomorrow and the weekend to make up for it. I'm dreading weigh day on Friday. To be honest I really have not stuck to it this week at all in fact my weekly points are in minus figures. I'm going to write this week off and start agin in Friday. I've been really poorly with depression since October and not allowed back to work and I've had a bad week stress and mood wise so not going to beat myself up about it. I will just make a fresh start after Friday weigh in. I've had depression for 3 years, this is my third major episode, lots of things caused it but the MMC and fertility issues and PCOS hormonal issues have not helped one bit! I've recently changed my antidepressant meds which have made a massive difference and I've gone back on the pill temporarily until I am able to go through FET. I just want to focus on my mental health and physical health by getting my weight down, then trying for a baby again can come after that. I need a break from thinking about it as it has consumed my thoughts for 4 years! Anyway I will stop gabbing away. I hope you have had a good week . It's your weigh in tomorrow isn't it? Fingers crossed for you hunxxx

Hi Nikki, I've lost my way with WW totally and need a buddy to get me going! I want to lose 2 stone so I can go through my final attempt of IVF. Only thing is I keep going off plan as I'm also battling with depression and on medication which makes me eat more. I have gone back on the pill short term to see if it will help at least keep the PCOS at bay as that too stops me losing weight. Well done on the 3 pound loss, it's a good start xx

Yes, any tiredness and depression don't help. I dont have the motivation to cook everything from scratch, it feels like such hard work! I'm getting weighed today. Last week I didn't lose anything. One thing I try to do is go for long walks in the pram. Are you tracking everything? I was guessing a lot before, trying to be more accurate now. My aim is to try and use more of the filling and healthy approach. Fingers crossed I didn't make a gain!!

Hi. Again, I know what you mean about motivation but I don't have the motivation to track every single thing I eat. I'm wondering whether to give slimming world a go again. I like the fact that there is hardly any counting involved. I'm finding it really hard to track everything and finding it hard having the knowledge of 49 weekly points as I find this is encouraging me to overeat. I lost 3 and half stone with WW in the past when it was the old points system but i can't seem to stick to this one, keep trying and failing. I've lost count how many times I have joined and canceled. I hope you have better luck than me!

I've just been weighed and I've lost 7lbs since starting, this is week 7. Something must be working! I've been writing things down like what worked, what didn't work. I struggle to feed myself, I have struggle to eat breakfast. I use the app to track. You lost loads before so do whatever works for you. Are you being hard on yourself? Anything is something, so I keep telling myself! It's hard with pcos but can be done.

I found with WW when it was the old points system I had to eat 2 point under the recommended amount to keep losing weight, so keep that in mind (I know its done slightly differently now tho). We cant eat the same as a non pcos lady unfortunately so WW isnt necessarily that specialised in PCOS.

Agree in that respect. All of a sudden I just experienced massive sugar cravings. I ate lots of the filling and healthy stuff already, but this sugar craving was just out of control! I'm very off track this week, and I don't know why I actually lost last week when I felt like I'd deffo gone over my points. Maybe cos of walking around but it's not like it makes real sense.
